It's better to get the students to wave their arms in the same direction as the FT shooter is taking the FT.

That is something I would like to try and get done by conference play. Hopefully we can get big Gerald to help us before he is off to the combine...

If we could just do one thing, I would chose your suggestion. But, I think the sign is nice visual reminder to the free throw shooter of how many points his team has left on the floor.
