Which ranking site would you say is more accurate? Hoopgurlz for prospects nation? Something else?

It's hard to say because it depends on how many times a particular site gets to see a player vs the other services. It also depends on how well the recruit plays when they are being observed by the gurus.

That is why I like to look at all evaluations then look at which coaches are recruiting the kid. If the girl is being recruited by UCONN, Notre Dame, Tenn, etc, and is generally ranked in the top 15 in the country, there is a pretty good chance the kid can play.

I would agree with that. There is probably somewhat of a consensus on the top five or ten players in the country. The emergence of the AAU programs is probably getting more focus on evaluations since they can now be seen against better competition.

The thing that makes it interesting is that there are players that can play that nobody observes or anticipates. Who finds them and develops them makes it interesting. Every year, Iowa State has some pretty good players, many of whom were not projected that highly. They have been helped recently by a guard from Australia. This past year, the best freshman in the conference may have been Davis, or it may have been Romero, from Spain. Teams keep coming up with unknowns that can play with the best.

I would go by where the scouting service is located. This is very much done by regional scouts. In this area Joey Simmons PBR is somewhat accurate..In Seattle Chris Hansen with Prospects Nation--in Atlanta Brandon Clay and so on and so on..I see Florida scouting services putting out top 50 for Texas and it's way off from 1 to 50.

True, but I Really Don't pay anymind to what a kid is ranked.
If a school made the offer then the kid can play. Forget the Ranking.

Gioya Carter was recruited By UCONN, Louisville, and Maryland
And was Unranked and now look at her? Simply Diamond in the Ruff.

Did UCONN, Louisville, and Maryland offer Carter a scholarship?

That I do not know. I just know for sure She was heavily
Recruited by them. Anytime Schools of those caliber take even
A look at you, then they most certainly can play. I will always
Wonder why Carter was Unranked coming out of high school?
Not that it matters now but as you can see rankings have no say so
In getting a Bigtime ship or not.

I agree totally. The rankings can be way off..a lot of politics and money going around--The more you go to Nike camps..showcase events ect..If the coaches don't do their homework they could be picking the wrong player based on rankings. Even the top 30 players could be out of order.

While recruiting services sometimes make mistakes evaluating players, coaches do to. Of course when you have 15 ships to hand out, it is okay to take a chance on a couple of players that are questionable.

The services are rarely missing on the top 30 kids.
The elite kids are not slipping thru the cracks.
The scouting depth is not there on women's hoops recruiting though,
so very good players still are not ranked.

That's a good point. They are looking for role players and/or practice players as the college coaches like to call them. Someone that can work out the best players real hard in practice--going at it one on one (like post players). You can't have all elite players---there is only one ball..You'll have kids transferring every year if you take 15 dynamic players. That's why a lot of colleges go with 13 or 14 players on their rosters. You have to have chemistry.

I think there is over hype of several kids in the top 30 every year that one scouting service jumps on and the rest add to their list having seen them maybe a few times and follow the other guru. For instance, I think there are two kids in the 2015 class that don't belong in the top 30 and that will come to light over the next 4 years or so. They may look good in a uniform but you have to have heart to play the game. I actually hope I'm wrong...I want to see all the girls do well.
