I wish:
That we wouldnt insist on guarding good players 3-6 feet away from them;
That Sherri would insist that all guards develop a pull up jumper;
That the player who leaves her opponent alone in the corner had to sit for at least 2 quarters;
That we would fake shots to get opponent off their feet;
That the shooter would follow a shot that the shooter knows isnt going to fall;
There are always individual wishes(Peyton getting out of her slump, Maddie breaking out, etc.) I'm just talking team approach. There are a lot more but I feel lunch calling.

Looks like you're going to be wishing a while longer because many of these things are fundamental and are usually "mistakes" here and there for elite players at the college level and beyond. I truly believe, based on what I've seen that the team and coaches are doing the very best they can with what they have to work with. Sure, we'll see some improvement with time, but not enough to start buying tickets for the championship round of the Big XII tournament and forget FF (or EE) for at least 4-6 years!

OU has some really good players right now and some hopeful recruits coming in...but I have not seen one with that "IT" that is required to push ones self to excellence game in, game out...the gotta' win attitude...one that will influence and teach teammates to have the same attitude. And that takes time; at least a few years. It goes back to recruiting. Doesn't make them bad people or unworthy to be a part of a Div. I program. Heck, there are many more Div. I teams doing alot worse.

That's a good list of fundamentals that should be a normal part of every player's game. It does make one wonder if the coaches mention these things.

Think about what you are saying.

1. There seems to be good team camaraderie while on the court.
2. Great representatives for community service.
3. Committed to academics...haven't heard of academic ineligibility.
4. They don't appear to get flustered or give up when they are behind in scoring or clearly about to lose the game.
5. Bounce passes are more successful and used with better judgement.
6. They play without selfishness.

That post says a lot more about soonerbay than it does the team.

I wish this team will play as hard as the men did tonight.
