I think that was the quietest I have ever heard LNC for the National Anthem and it was possibly the best version I've ever heard.

Truly a magnificent performance!

I loved it too. And (at least around me in the student section) I felt like as it went on the people around me started singing the words softly and grew in volume as the anthem went on. Culminating in a very loud and powerful Sooners which I thought was amazing. Really got me pumped to cheer for our team and honor Tisdale.

Tisdale's Sax anthem at the Thunder opening game was one of my alltime favs. Ranks right up their with Marvin Gay and this guy:

Obviously this one is my fav 4 a different reason.

It was very moving.

Throughout the game, the entire tribute to Waymon was very well done. Very professional.

The Anthem was really nice. I agree, it was one of the best I have ever seen as well.

Here's the National Anthem:

Sooner68 Thanks for posting this was definitely a great moment

My favorite anthems were those performed by Dr. Thomas Carey, world-renown baritone and OU professor. He sang the anthem before many games some years ago, and his rendition was enough to give one chills.

I anticipate Carrie Underwood giving quite a performance tonight at the Super Bowl.

And yes, the Anthem yesterday was awesome. I'm not one that necessarily dislikes the home of the "Sooners" at the end of the Anthem, but this might have been an instance I didn't care for it.

Whitney Houston set the bar that has never been broken. 100% flawless perfection.

Whitney's version was great but it was pre-recorded and she sang via lip sync at the Super Bowl.

That was incredible. I agree that the Whitney Houston version could be on of the greatest of all times. The emotion captured in that moment was amazing. BOOMER SOONER BABY!!!

It was the guy who played sax in Wayman's band, but I think he was playing a clarinet when he played the Anthem.

In case it hasn't been stated, it was an alto sax. The neckstrap and gold are the telling features. And of course, the sound. But all-in-all probably the best, if not the most emotional, national anthem I've ever heard.

No. It's a soprano saxophone. You can tell by the sound, and the appearance; alto, tenor, and baritone saxes are not straight from mouthpiece to bell.
