NBA legends offer Griffin sage advice >>> Sporting News

Well hopefully he doesn't take the advice from Barley's mouth.

He said something like, He's playing at 100% right now, but when he learns to play at 50%..thats when he will be great! That just has to be the greatest advice ever(sarcasm)

What Barkley was saying is he has to learn to pick and choose his spots. He did use those percentage terms but it wasn't substantially different that Dominque saying he had to learn to play on the floor or the comments made by the others. It seems to me they are all saying you cannot truly be great by simply overpowering everyone all the time. You need to finese to go with it. I did not take Charles Barkley's comments as an insult to Blake.

This is how I translated as well....good message, bad delivery.

I remember the exact same advice being given to Waymon.

barkley said he's going 100 mph all the time, and when he learns to go 50-60 mph, he'll be great. it wasn't %'s. but he also has landry fields as the best rookie, so...

What about his comment about "when the kid gets in the weight room, he's really gonna be a player...", "I feel like I'm looking in a mirror...":ez-roll::ez-roll:

I think people don't like him going 100% or 100mph...its making other players look bad. Thats what is making him so special. He was the 1st player to compete in the Rookie challenge, dunk contest, and the all-star games.

Blake is earning respect and being loved by all the fans b/c of the fact that he entered the dunk contest and the rest of the stuff. He's not asking for the attention...he is getting it b/c of how hard he is playing and that he is very remorseful. Lebron James hasn't entered the contest...he thinks hes better than everyone and is willing to step on everyone to be what he is...and screws over his team on national television.

Barkley is alluding to the fact that Blake doesn't have an all-around game. It's pretty much just running up and down the court dunking/rebounding. Blake doesn't have a good shooting touch and he doesn't have a great low post game. He's primarily a high-riser. If he could develop some of things Amare possesses (shooting, pick/roll), BG would be too dominant for anyone, even DHoward.

Barkley is awesome, don't hate. I love hearing that guy ramble.

Exactly. Don't let the Oklahoma Crowd think that someone is slighting their own.:ez-roll::ez-roll:

As good as Blake is, his game is still very raw, just as Amare's was early on. Once he develops more on the block, and he gains in game experience, he will be something that we may not have seen before. That is all that CB was saying..... He clearly said that BG was the most talented, but he picked the KNick as the most complete at this point.

My biggest concern about Blake is injury...you can't play at that pace continually over so many games and not have an adverse effect. He's awesome to watch right now, but down the line, slowing down his game (not his vertical or effort mind you) will help him from a basketball and health standpoint.
