After spending a night on the board it appears the NCAA is changing the way they score basketball games. For every game ever played and the future, after a game ends a message board poster will be involved in tabulating the final score. Whichever team had the best player in that game, they have to subtract all the points he scored from his team's point total. Because obviously his team and coach don't deserve any credit for winning with the best player on their team, that wouldn't be fair to the other team who don't have a player as good. Those are the rules that obviously make the most sense on this wonderful planet we call Capelbash.

It almost makes me wish we never had Blake, because then we wouldn't have to see so many of our games erased from the annals of history because we had the best player that night. But overall it was worth it, better to have won then lost than never to have won at all.

We can all thank luminaries on message boards across the nation, people who name themself after things like boogers, thebigwetblanket, Denver omelet, and mrbuttersworth, for making the push for this totally reasonable revisionist history. I know I'm not the only one who felt queasy every game we won with Blake, knowing that it just wasn't fair. Now I can sleep at night, knowing credit for those wins will never sully our good name. Keep your ears open because you never know what new ideas message board geniuses will invent to prop up their own beliefs with no regard for logic.

Half this board has been saying for years the only reason Rick Barnes wins is talent. That he can't coach. LOL
You can't have it both ways.

I have to admit I read the first sentence of this post and then decided it's just not worth my time or effort.

Then why comment? If it wasnt worth your time you can easliy hit the back button or close your tab.

As for the OP. While I agree that Capel should get credit for Blake, it is very alarming that he has had 2 and possibly 3 of the worst teams in 25 years without him

Good grief. Is this the kind of posts we can expect from you all season as this team coasts to an 8-25 record? If so, I might as well hit the ignore button.

I'm not gonna lie, I knew this post was a bit out there even as I was writing it. I took a chance, it's hit or miss, and I guess it missed. I could explain my thinking but why waste the time right?

To Max Power, you are totally right about Capel, I am also very worried about his coaching ability. My biggest fear is this: the end of last year he had something to blame it on (a few players). Then this year there is another thing that can be blamed (loss of players late, few good players available in May). So this is 2 years of bad basketball and it's hard to tell if his coaching is up to snuff or if it's mostly a personnel thing. I think his coaching is a bit weak, but his recruiting is good - meaning in a few years of seasoning he could be really good. But on the flipside, in a few years he could still be a poor coach and we wasted 2-3-4 seasons waiting to find out. I just don't know, and no one really can know until next season at the earliest. That's my dilemma. But this post was solely aimed at those who give Capel no credit for winning with Blake, which I think is silly. Those seasons don't mean he's an elite coach, but they do mean he can recruit and handle excellent players who want to get better, and manage to get a good team to win together.

I would like to thank SeniorSooner for taking his time and effort to tell me that my first sentence wasn't compelling enough for him to waste further time and effort reading my post. I always enjoy gleaning bits of a person's personality from how they interact with others.

At least you had to ask the question about me, meaning what I post might not be set in stone. We already know the kind of posts we can expect from you all season.
