A 7 seed would rank us between 25-28, which I think we would all agree is approximately how this team turned out to be.

so is this taking the tourney games into consideration or not?? cuz NMU got waxed in the first round too

I certainly don't think we were a top 25-28 team. The big XII was very overrated. Consistently mediocre.

That is crazy. The Big XII was very good. There is difference between a conference being good and the best teams in the conference being great. The Big XII dominated the SEC in the head to head games but the SEC has two teams in the final four. It was the solid play (but not great play) of the teams in the Big XII that made it strong.

The reseedings does not make a lot of sense to me.

Upsets occur because the underdog comes into the game with a pretty solid defense, some decent outside shooting and nothing to lose.

The favorite tries to overpower the underdog rather than play their game, get unnecessary turnovers and charging fouls and then tenses up and misses shots they hit game in and game out.

The specter of instant elimination creates immense pressure especially on young teams. The Sooners would beat North Dakota State 7 or even 9 out of 10 in regular conference play. Ditto most of the favorites that lose.

That is the reason that while the big dance is an exciting event the focus on that to evaluate the team vs the 30+ games in the regular season is crazy.

No its how the NCAA tourney field would have looked before it started. With those 3 computer rankings determining who was in and who was out with the auto bids accounted for. For example Dayton was left out of I think two of the brackets. We know how well the tourney worked out for Dayton.
