UConn's Achilles Heel seemed to be that they were too dependent on the 3 and didn't have a dominant inside game.

Can ND contain McCowan?

UConn also doesn’t have that ‘Superstar’, i.e. Maya Moore, Breanna Stewart, Diana Taurasi or Sue Bird.

I guess Samuelson was the closest to a Superstar they had.

Geno said he was surprised they were undefeated. I guess he knew what he was talking about.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mississippi State won this, making Dionnah Jackson a hot commodity.

Yea what a surprise that in women's basketball a terrible non call would help decide the game- the ND girl absolutely ran over the MSU girl at half court and knocked the ball away, forcing MSU to foul leading to the winning bucket. Should have been MSU shooting two ft at the other end. MSU has a foul to give they foul on the inbounds pass as soon as caught, leave ND maybe 1.5 sec she can't get the shot she made off.

I didn't think any of the three games got NC caliber officiating.[/QUOTE

Unfortunately, that's the norm. Kind of sad really. Officiating hurts the women's game more than officiating hurts any other sport.

I know some pretty diehard basketball fans that won't watch for that very reason.

The 3 officials today are the best the womens game has. Sad, but that is the state of the womens game.

This was the last of several that really favored ND. Under normal circumstances, I like Notre Dame. They are well-coached, and I love their offense. Tonight, I didn't see the ND offense at any time. But, I was also a bit concerned about why ND was able to use Jessica Shepard this year in the first place. She didn't have to sit out a year for some exception they received.

But, even before that foul, Ogunbowale drove the lane without being touched, not even close, and missed a layup. They called a foul, and she shot two free throws. Nobody was near her on that drive at any time. Bad call, the type that caused me to quit watching pro basketball.

Yes, Mabrey mugged the Miss St guard at mid-court. I think she was perhaps trying to foul. She had no choice. Ten seconds or fewer, Mississippi State has the ball on a break. There is a ND defender back, but only one. Was she trying to foul to stop the flow so they could set up a defense? Ridiculous call. Taints the ND win.
