Great article, and one that is well deserved by a fine young man who has seen more than his shares of ups and downs during his career.
Tyler has more than exceeded my expectations this season. He has progressed from a decent player who could make threes when he got on a roll, but who was inconsistent at times. He also struggled with other areas of the game, especially defending the interior.
This year he is the first (and best) player off of the bench. He ranks second in three point shooting with better than a 42% average, sixth in scoring and fifth in rebounding. His defense has also improved, especially in the last month or so. I also like the fact that he is looking for opportunities to score now, and he's pretty darned good at taking his man off of the dribble.
Tyler is having a great season by any definition. When you throw in his experience, his leadership, his high character and the fact that he's an outstanding student, I'm not sure we can ask for more from a role player.
