New AD Hire?

The good news is that OU is successful in just about everything except men’s basketball. That makes it plain as day the number one issue for the new AD.

The bad news is that OU is successful in just about everything except sport except men’s basketball 😢

Heard he's bringing Underwood with him, the two have supposedly been tied at the hip since Denny joined Illinois.
I'll take it. But not sure OU is a better job than Illinois at this point in time.

It’s definitely not. Illinois is right up there with us historically, maybe even ahead of us. They have a sneaky good history. The mess Moser created makes it a no-doubter currently.

underwood would be crazy to leave illinois for ou
I don’t want the new AD bringing his buddy in and that’s why they get rid of Moser. I want him to get rid of Moser soley because Moser isn’t getting the job done.

1) This guy is being brought in for his legal background, especially regarding contracts and media rights. Also has a background with private equity...don't be surprised if we sell a portion of the athletic department to a PE firm for an influx of cash.

2) Football has improved while he's been there, but he's coming from a basketball school. He's not bringing Brad Underwood, but I bet he picks Brad's brain on candidates for the OU job.

I halfway expect him to bring in a COO for all other sports except football, which are covered by Stephenson and Nagy. This will allow him to concentrate on the business side.

Ok so now we've hired a new AD yet Joe C isn't retiring until 2028.

Why the distinction?

Probably not officially "retired" until 2028 for some kind of state pension or retirement fund bogey based on years of service. That would be 30 years, correct?
Pretty sweet gig...lol. Joe is 68 and full retirement age is 67. The teachers retirement for OU is fully vested after 7 years. Not sure if he has any other plan or requirements through the university.
