Sooners score four runs in the top of first, lead Texas Tech 4-0. Red Raiders coming to bat.

Steven threw seven straight balls to start the inning, then came back from a 3-0 count on the second batter and struck her out with three straight strikes.

Got the next batter to line into a double play at third. Inning over. 4-0.

If I wasnt so old and hadnt smoked for 45 years I could hold my breath until Lauren hits her next home run. The dam is gonna break and Heaven help who is downstream.

I have lost track - - I know a few games back before Lauren went into her slump, that she was inside of 5 or 6 home runs of tying the record. She still has plenty of time to break out of the slump and start knocking the ball out of the park again on a regular basis.

What is Lauren's current HR count? Anyone know off hand?

Five games without a hit for Lauren. She hit one to the right field wall yesterday and one to the left field wall today. If she could just get a single I think the bad luck would change.

In case you guys were wondering, Kady Self had a stomach virus and was not at the game on Friday. She was there today but did not play. She is feeling better and might play tomorrow.

Interesting notes for everyone, Kelsey Arnold has hit right handed for the past two games - she hates the lefty slapping and has gone back to her natural hitting side. Of course, she hit her first home run today on the second of back to backs with Jessica Vest. Who would have thought JV and Arnold for a back to back job.

Stevens started but could not find the plate. Honestly, she was way outside for most batters during the game. She grooved one that ended with a 3 run homer again then threw one of the over the umpire again. Gasso made the move to Shelby after that pitch.

Whose idea was the lefty slap-hitter thing? She didn't seem to be fast enough to get a hit, and she gets caught stealing. Is speed a strength?

The lefty slapping idea was a Gasso idea. She loves having a couple of slappers in the lineup. Unfortunately, she only has one true slapper on the team and that is Cali Parsons. You pretty much have to slap from the left side.
