Ouch.

Haven't been there yet today, but I'm guessing phog.net is in the midst of a full-on meltdown. Wow.

Funny, I was just wondering where you've been on this board after seeing Bob Voulgaris retweet you the other day (I assume it was you, same handle and avatar).

I still check in periodically. Just released a new set of NCAA statistics, actually, though I mostly work in NBA stats these days.

You can still by Zubaz online...I'm actually contemplating getting the Cincinnati Bengals ones and maybe getting a red/white combo for OU home games...come on, those things were sick!

That's cool. I follow the NBA much more closely than NCAA. I still remember you posting some interesting statistical comparisons leading up to the 2009 draft; in particular, I recall you being really high on Ty Lawson, and he has obviously outperformed his draft position.

Browsing through your site, I was curious about your preseason NBA win projections. Even without the benefit of hindsight, there seems to be less variance than I would expect: the win totals of better teams seem to be a little low, and those of the worse teams seem to be a bit high. Would you consider that a fair assessment? If so, is it due to the nature of ridge regression and/or limitations in ASPM's ability to capture defense?

P.S. The NFL adjusted PPP was compelling as well. I've long been frustrated by the lack of PPP data for both NFL and college. I don't think it's quite as meaningful in football as it is in basketball, since there is nothing analogous to average starting field position in the latter, but given the disparities in pace--particularly at the collegiate level--it would obviously be much more meaningful than raw PPG.

I had a great time making fun of all the KU fans at work today. Let's just say that not 1 of them was happy about this dumpster fire of a uniform.
