Volleyball just made the NCAA tourney after years of average to sub par production.

Joe C finally goes out and gets a young assistant from a winning program.
And the program gets a burst of new energy and recruiting.

Hopefully Sherri gets this going again, but signs are very ominous.

No question Lindsey Gray-Walton has a major impact on the volleyball program in very short order. Her team finished #3 in the conference behind Texas and Baylor both whose team was ranked #1 some portion of the regular season.

No question it will be difficult to continue to narrow the gap but I fully expect to see the program more closely assimilating the bears and whorns on an annual basis. For example she lost to #1 Baylor 0-3 in early October in Waco but only 2-3 in Norman less than a month later.

Also the attendance for the Texas match in Norman was 2,442 and that was butts in the seats. That is a number butts in the seats that Sherri WBB team hasn't seen in 2-3 years despite attendance figures that state otherwise.

Volleyball and softball is where my family and money now go. We now have season tickets to softball and make most of the volleyball matches. Used to be basketball season ticket holders. SC's program is DOA.

Joe Cc. very rarely fires people. Only if they are risking compliance issues (Capel).

I wish I had a boss like him, where mediocrity is not only tolerated, but rewarded.

I don't care for a boss that allows mediocrity. Those mediocre people always muck us things for the rest of us. But I think Joe C is better than that. He has a problem with a legend that has probably fell behind the game and appears to be unwilling to change anything.

I have always been a fan of Gray-Walton because she does what she has to do to get the job done. When she has a need she hustles out and grabs an impact transfer. She has also done a solid job recruiting.

Clearly a case of someone trying to build something. Congrats to her and the team.

Joe C. has replaced several coaches Matt Potter, Santiago Restrepo, Mark Cody, Jack Spates, Jim VanHootegem, Pete Hughes, David Mullins and Sunny Golloway that I can think of off the top of my head.

Spates retirement was probably mutual with Joe C. and Golloway while under major pressure because of his clash with former players got a big dollar offer from Auburn who fired Sunny a year or so later before Joe C. could cut the cord.
