Just logged on and got the news that is making my day. I'm certainly no expert, but I believe the addition of Newell gives OU at least a chance to have its best backcourt since the days of Hollis/Quantas. That may be pushing the envelope a little, but no one can deny things are finally starting to look up for the Sooners.

Said it in another thread, but I'll say it again, Capel brought in arguably three of the Top 100 recruits in the country, and a JUCO AA at a position of need. I know that there are several other recruits and transfers, but if we were being forced to rebuild, I like the foundation.
 
Newell is the guy who can be a difference maker. Florida, Uconn, Arizona, West Virginia were all on this guy but they didn't need to take the risk on waiting this long to see if he could qualify.

This is TMG's gift to OU. If he stayed we wouldn't have waited on Newell.
 
Has anybody here actually seen this kid play?

I got bored at work today and watched the Newell, Taylor and Clark film...Capel got some solid talent on board with those three with Cam having FOY potential IMHO.

With Cade, Fitzgerald, Pledger, Clark, Taylor and Newell there is still High-Major type talent at OU. IF, Washington, Thompson and Blair can come in, compete for minutes and contribute on the court, we may not be half bad.
 
Sounds good. I'm not that into recruiting I don't really care how good he was in HS, those type of rankings are stupid. We just need guys that can play right now. This will be good for OU.
