Just updated here a short bit ago.

Has us as an 11 seed, playing 6 seed UNLV in Austin, with Florida being our next opponent (likely) should we win.

The NCAA does love those intriguing matchups like pitching coaches against past teams. Don't know much about UNLV, but you'd have to think LK would have a pretty good scouting report on them. I wouldn't hate that draw, even though I don't think UF is a particularly good matchup for us.

Maybe I'm just down on how we're playing now, but I don't see many teams out there we'll match up well against.

Someone with big guys that aren't athletic is basically our only chance, and most of those teams have good guards to make up for their front court weaknesses.

If we don't make some outside shots we aren't going to beat many teams on the road or a neutral floor.

I understand how you're feeling -- I'm none too optimistic about our prospects, either -- but many's the team that has struggled down the stretch and gone on to make a nice run (or at least win a game or two) in the tourney.

It's not as though we're struggling from start to finish in our recent losses -- quite the opposite: we've dominated at least one half in each of them. So we just need to play a complete game (a goal that's proven elusive of late, but one we managed any number of times over the course of the season).

I'm making no promises, mind you, of tourney success, but you never know -- stranger things have happened.

Butler in Back to Back Championship games and George Mason Making a Final four come to mind as stranger things happening than this team winning a game or two

I like being in the 11-6 with a 3 seed matchup. Gives you a good shot at sweet 16 without facing a top 8 team. I just wish we were playing better. Two weeks ago I was hoping to be the 6 seed. These recent 2nd half collapses just have baffled me from this team that seemed to be peaking at the right time. Hopefully Kruger gets it straightened out and we make a run!!

I started to believe about half way through the season when I saw us consistently getting big stops on D, rebounding the ball and getting the 50-50 balls.

We haven't done any of that down the stretch of the season when it's mattered most late in games. Those are each essential to winning when playing on the road/neutral court against good teams.

I hope that the guys will feel refreshed when their name is called on Sunday and get back to playing winning ball.

I can't believe no one's mentioned that that would have Kruger forcing two former teams he coached for.

This team has a small margin for error and the last two weeks it has stopped doing what made is successful. Just not the right time to go into a funk.

If you take away the last 7 minutes of regulation in the Texas game and the last 5 minutes of yesterdays game we only have the one abysmal performance at TCU in the first half. But, when you consider we outscored them by 20 in the 2nd half, for the most part this team is playing good basketball.

I guess you could take away the 2nd half of the WVU game, but we played them 3 times so they knew more about us than other teams.

But, look at some of our games down the stretch of the season. We blow out Baylor and ISU at home, and looked very good doing it. Beat KU, which Self said after the game that was the only one of their 3 straight losses that KU actually played good basketball. A narrow defeat at Stillwater, and I've seen some very good OU teams play much worse OSU teams than this one and lose in Stillwater (88 and 02 come to mind). Pasted Tech in Lubbock, and how long has it been since we've won in Lubbock?

I think we can win some games but like every year, we need a decent matchup.

If you look at that 3 line ill take New Mexico or Michigan in a heart beat over Florida.

Lets hope we stay out of that play in game and make some noise in Round 1.... It isn't a question of if we can play with anyone in the country but we have to get right mentally, play D like we did earlier in the season and most important make shots. We are a jump shooting team and when we shoot poorly everything falls apart.

Our home performance this year is out the window. We won't play another home game.

Our road and neutral court performances down the stretch don't paint a pretty picture of things to come.

Like I said, I'm really hopeful the team will be energized by the NCAA tournament and get back to doing the things needed to win late in games.

I hate the idea that OU might be playing in Austin - that's just bad mojo, like it was in 1990.

But, I think OU could take UNLV with any kind of a decent performance. The Rebs just lost a home game to sub-.500 Fresno State, which to me is worse than losing a road game (like KU did) at TCU, in the bigger picture.

True, but at the same time we won't play another "road" game either from here on out. We should be the higher seed (as in closer to 16 than 1) so we should get some love from the fans of other teams wherever we play. (Heaven knows we will have about 10 true Oklahoma fans there. :ez-laugh:)

I would love a shot at New Mexico. Burke/Hardaway at Michigan would be a bad matchup for us. Florida pressures alot and shoots the 3 well...but I haven't seen much of them this year.

Wherever we go, I plan to be one of the 10.

Disagree on Michigan, they shoot themselves in and out of games and Burke hasn't been good finishing games this year. As long as we rebounded we could definitely beat them.
