All three against fellow winless teams. Two of the three at home. What’s everyone’s best guess? I’ll say 1-2, with the win likely being South Carolina. If Culture Wall somehow finally solves the great Rodney Terry and beats Texas, I’m sure he will then follow it up with a flop against SC.

If he could get one against Texas...ONE... at least he'd break that schneid on his way out. But I have as much confidence in that as I do being able to make a snow igloo in my front yard in NW Houston.

Offense Notes:
-6th in eFG%
-Worst in FT-Rate (FT discrepancy is gnarly)
-5th in 3pt%
-5th in FT%
-5th in Tempo
-13th in OR%
-10th ranked Offense-Efficiency

SEC-DEF.png

Defense Notes:
-Worst ranked defense in the SEC play
-Worst OR% on defense
-15th in Defensive FT-Rate (shocker)
-Bottom half of the league in every category but 8th in 3pt%
-Georgia is playing out of their minds on defense.

It will mostly come down to whether Fears can get back on track. His poor play was a principal reason for losses in the Georgia and A & M games. Love the kid and not down on him at all, but he should be in high school right now and looks like it. He is having a hard time adjusting to the MMA style conference play. We are just going to have to live with this for the most part. When he plays like a lottery player we are a pretty good team, when he plays like a kid playing the lottery, we aren't nearly as good.

I haven't seen any of these next few teams play very much. So, I don't know what I think of the matchups. Hopefully, we can win 2 of the next 3. I was encouraged by the play of Wague in the Georgia game. I would start him and bring Sam off the bench. Moser is just going to have to manage Fears. Finding a way to bring him along, which will involve some mistakes, without letting him play us out of games will be difficult.

Btw, here is my scoring system year-to-date with our current players (white), transfers in (green), transfers out (red), and near portal misses (yellow):

Wague has a very high PER, maybe should see the court more...as hard as that is for me to say.

I wonder if I should do this scoring list for CONF PLAY ONLY...maybe would show up much differently.

Godwin, Miles, Fears, Moore, Wague are the top half of the list...Taylor looking worse with the numbers all together. Not a very efficient player and his defensive score is worse that I expected it to be.

This is tough because all of these teams, like OU, are flawed af.

My gut says L-W-L...

While Texas has better talent, IMO, Rodney Terry is a terrible HC. I know we're mostly all down on Moser but I wouldn't take Terry over Moser. Just yuck.

With Terry, OU has a great chance to win, at home, but I'll give Texas the nod....by 4-6 points.

South Carolina isn't good. They were overrated last year too and aren't as talented now. If OU loses this game, pack it in boys, there won't be a tourney berth (IMO). I'll give OU the W.

Arkansas, who knows, much like Texas. Arky's talent > OU's but they aren't a good, cohesive team. I'll say Arky...due to being at "The Bud".

New starting lineup per Lusk

Fears
Duke
Goodine
Moore
Godwin

He said the reasoning is due to OU wanting to get away from the 3 guard lineup and not due to Elvis sucking. I'm sure he was told that by an excellent source but I call bullchit. It was a long time coming.....Elvis is a bench player, at best, in the SEC. We'll see how Goodine performs. None of them have excelled on defense, yet.

surprised at the early line

Wow, Goodine can't defend at all so we'll see how this works. Thanks for posting!

As long as we keep Luke in the rotation, we are golden!

The explanation makes no sense. It is still a three guard lineup, the identity of the third guard simply changes. While I am not opposed to making changes, this is the kind of thing that could/should have been sorted out in the noncon -- if, ya know . . .

Yeah I don't quite get the explanation either but we'll see what happens...
