Nino Jackson, a 6-foot-2, 175-pound junior basketball shooting guard from Ardmore (Okla.) High, will make an unofficial campus visit to Kansas University for the Oct. 15 Late Night in the Phog.

Jackson, who is Rivals.com’s No. 38-ranked player in the Class of 2012, has scholarship offers from KU, Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas. He’s also heard from Indiana, Missouri, Arkansas, North Carolina, Oregon, Southern Methodist, Tennessee and others.

Jackson — he averaged 17.2 points a game last season — told the Journal-World in May he’s long dreamed of becoming a Jayhawk. Several weeks later, however, he said he likely would not pick a school until after his junior season.

Zach Peters, a top junior who has already committed to KU, also told Rivals.com he’s planning on attending Late Night. Peters, 6-9, 240 from Prestonwood Academy in Plano, Texas, averaged 15.3 points and 9.0 boards his sophomore season. He is Rivals.com’s No. 84-rated player in the Class of 2012.

Josiah Turner, a 6-3, 175-pound senior point guard from Sacramento (Calif.) High, will visit KU for Late Night. The country’s No. 12-rated recruit in the Class of 2011 also will visit Arizona, UConn, Louisville and Oregon.

Not that we had a realistic shot at either of them, but this doesn't help.

I think OU has a very realistic shot at Nino Jackson. He's basically said it's down to OU and KU and he'll decide after his season. Nino is 2012.
If KU lands Josaih Turner and Jabahri Brown who many consider KU to lead for that could deter Nino. Both players are 2011 guards and rated higher than Nino. Plus it's believe KU is the leader for 2011 SF stud Ben McElmore. If KU brings in 3 perimeter players in 2011 Nino could see playing time as an issue.
I don't think Nino Jackson to KU is a done deal.

Nino Jackson is a lifetime Jayhawk. The only way OU gets him is if KU doesn't want him.

Jabari Brown is no longer listing KU. KU would take Nino over Brown for sure.

he will DOMINATE against Maryland in his first game
and never reach that level again

that is not true. Nick Collison still dreams about JB.

the real "domination" against the Terps that night was Ace bodying up on Lonny Baxter and forcing all their game outside. and Blake had a terrible night shooting. Quannas took Francis off his game.

We have a very good shot for Nino Jackson. Don't be fooled. BOOMER SOONER BABY!!!

I agree. In fact, the longer he waits the better the odds for OU IMO.
KU offered another 2012 guard today (Archie Goodwinwho's higher rated than Nino. He's probably going to visit for Late Night. As soon as one or two of these guards commit then the others maybe looking for other places so playing time isn't an issue.

Pretty mean trick by Q, considering Francis was already in the NBA for a few years. ;)

Haha, was thinking the same thing.

OU was stacked that year. Still can't believe they lost to Indiana.

You thinking of Juan Dixon? I think Stevie Franchise left for the NBA a year or two earlier.

Both starting guards were hobbling around. It's not that surprising.

Wasn't one of their guards (I believe Tom Coverdale) hurt as well?

And I didn't remember Hollis being hurt, just that he had a bad shooting night. I thought Quannas was the only one that was hurt.

Quannas being injured hurt us greatly, still thought OU should have won. They just didn't bring their A game that night when they had throughout the majority of the season.

People always say Hollis was hurt in 2002 but I absolutely DO NOT remember him being dinged up in Atlanta. He did have a wretched shooting night, however. I can still see a bunch of scrubs draining threes from all over in the second half. Jared Jeffries even banked one in.

Quannas was definitely hurt. Tore his ankle up in the practices leading up to the game and we had to shift our backcourt all around.

Hollis was definitely dinged up in 2003. He really messed his groin up in the Big 12 final against Missouri. You remember? The game we scored something ridiculous like six points in the last 15 minutes of the second half. God, it was horrendous!

If Ace doesn't foul out we still might have won that game. So close yet so far.

I can still see Selvy missing the front end of the one-and-one when we were tied at 60.

Sigh.....
