Nino Jackson looking to prove doubters wrong >>>future150.com

I hope this turns out to be a really good story. regardless if he goes to OU or not I'm hoping this kid can turn things around a be productive as a person first and if he does well in bball then that's a bonus.

I hope OU lands him, but sometimes thats not best for the kid to come back to his old surroundings. I watched OKC Bishop McG, triangle and 2 him as a Soph. Kid can flat play!

between Clark and Jackson... who is the better player?

thats close. But probably clark. Jackson can play, more of an athlete, slasher, not quite as good as shooter as stevie.

Right now Clark because he is focused and continues to get better. A few years ago Jackson was projected as a NBA player. Both are extremely close and the reason Jackson is playing now is because has had Clark's mom continuing to change his path. The best thing for this kid is to stay away from OKC..

I was just wondering what happen to him. Osu seems to want him big time and are putting in the effort. If they land both him and Clark that should make for some high scoring guards.

I highly doubt OU wants him. He's been away from the game for a couple of years and I'm not sure he has an ACT score. He is likely in the same shape as Jarion Henry.

Here's hoping he gets it together, no matter where he wants to sign. From the things I've heard about him, he really needs to grow up and take care of his academic business also.

I sure DON'T want to hear something's happened to Jackson like it did 34 years ago with a great OKC talent named Louis Armstrong. I think Armstrong's problems were a lot more serious (drug problem and running with an older and tougher street crowd, from what I remember reading). But those problems no doubt led to his demise - shot to death in August of '78 during an armed robbery attempt just before he was going to go to a JC in-state to resume his playing career after a year at a reformatory.

Has anyone heard about Nino? Has he signed with a college program? Could he be a possibility at OU?

Despite the fact that Nino should have put going to school before playing ball in his list of priorities, he appears to be sincere about getting his life in order.

“I’m really motivated now,” Jackson said when asked about all the negative emotions surrounding him. “I can get back on track now, put all the rumors aside, and just go out and play ball and go to school.”

If OU is in his future at some point, one has to believe that he will need to achieve everything he has set his sights on first.

EDIT: Just noticed that this is an old thread BOB dug up. Add me to the what is Nino doing these days list? lol

No.

Also laugh out loud at the Yahoo article saying he went prep to get college exposure. He was and still is the biggest recruit out of Oklahoma since Xavier Henry.

It would be nice if we could find out if OU is recruiting him and if he is interested in us.

Why do you say no?

Is Jackson not interested in OU? Is OU not interested in Jackson? I trust that you are more informed than most but a little detail would make your comments more interesting reading.

Based on everything I've heard about his academic standing during his final two years of high school, its highly doubtful that a year of prep school would make him D-1 eligible.
