Do KU players skip practices to get tattoos?

We were aware of this, but didn't want to put it out there due to the sensitivity of the nature. We view Jackson as we do many other prospects his age. He's going to make mistakes down the road.

This isnt the first practice he has skipped either...skipped one a couple of weeks ago but was allowed to play and got to run a little bit as punishment...

This has been constant with Nino this year ever since he started getting pub this summer...there were several off the court issues in preseason...

I hope for his sake he chooses to turn it around...

This kinda goes to a point I was trying to make on another post. Self and Calipari can bring in someone like Jackson and can manage him. Self has had multiple issues at KU with Selby, the Morris's, Collins, Morningstar, and Tyshawn Taylor. He manages those issues and is effective at sweeping them under the rug. Capel has had those same issues with Tiny, TMG, Patillo, Keith Clark, etc. They end up falling apart.

Jackson is playing today, a friend of mine is watching him as I type. Says he played four minutes the first half and didn't do anything.

Ardmore paper said he was sick yesterday. Maybe he had a reaction to the ink.

Do you realize with the current state of the KU and OU programs how incredibly stupid this comment sounds?
And you do realize this is a kid that has narrowed his list to KU and OU right?

Sign him up! OU will take him... With his markings of the DEVIL and all...!

The Ardmore paper explained his 2 game absense as sickness...but it wasnt totally that...he was sick but could have played...

The coaching staff has become very frustrated with not only Nino, but a lot of the players on that team with absenses from practice and tardiness...all signs of bad leadership...Nino needs to step up and lead this team, on and off the court if he wants to consider him worthy of playing at programs like KU and OU...

I know that wont stop teams from recruiting him, but i look at it and get so frustrated that players get rewarded even when they have this type of behavior...

That is why even though we all are here killing Capel (myself included) i really applaud him for the tough decisions he made with guys during his time here...i'm sure there are things Capel would tell you he could have done differently but i like the stance he made with those kids rather than giving in and letting the inmates run the prison...

what tough decisions has Capel made?
I never saw TMG benched last year. I saw a one game suspension for Tiny, but thats it. Everything Capel has said is he wanted all those guys back this year, doesn't sound like he made any hard decisions and cut the dead weight. They left on their own.
I would have loved to seen TMG benched last year for his attitude, but it never happened.

Issues with Selby? Other than the eligibility thing I haven't heard peep about him.

Self does a great job handling these kids and for some reason really connects with the kids from rougher backgrounds.

Yeah, that's my point. Selby's eligibility is the same as Gallon's, but I feel Gallon's issue put both Gallon and Capel in a position where he couldn't come back to OU.

How are Selby and Gallon's issues the same? Selby wasn't given money to become eligible by a stranger tied to a KU assistant coach.
He was given rides, meals, stays in a hotel on the road etc with an old family friend. Had nothing to do with KU, KU's staff or any NCAA college for that fact.
