One of the best game planners in the business but an average at best bench coach.
His idea to not change his defense in the second half and basically running his offense through a soft foward who is shooting 30% from the charity stripe tonight was our downfall.
Atleast he called some timeouts which he usually leaves 2 to 3 on the board.

I still think Kruger is our man , but tonight he didnt coach a full game.He let this team down.Still proud of agreat season and the Kstate game in Norman will haunt me for years.

Thomas had one of those games, which he seems to have about every other game. The ball movement during the big run was absolutely horrendous though. Just guys dribbling for 30 seconds and chucking up garbage or turning it over.

And the lack of adjustment on defense is just the real kicker. We led by 17 at halftime and scored 31 points in the second half. That should be enough to win.

This team just lacks the toughness to be a top team.

Thomas has had one of those years, not games. hes soft as butter, never has adjusted to BIG 12.
Im not mad at Thomas , Im mad at Lon forcing the offense through him went him cant finish or hit a Freethrow.

59 points in the second half we just gave up.
We've held 11 opponents to 59 points of less FOR THE GAME this year.
Just unbelievable breakdown.

All you guys jumping on Lon lets just fire him and go back where we use to be. If we win you same guys would want to elect Lon president but we played in the toughest place to play in the Big 12 and you want to bad mouth him. Let just bring back that jerk we use to have then maybe you would have something to complain about.

I'm saying one game he looks great, and the next he's 2 for 10 and keeps trying to shoot 18 footers which he's shooting a negative percentage on for the season.

Sorry, but how is a Lon Kruger player who is a Junior doing another stupid thing like dropping curse words in a game where you stand everything to lose by doing that?

What player wasn't soft tonight....I agree about Thomas but OU doesn't have anyone that can demand the basketball and score. Thomas is the best OU has right now.

I don't want Lon fired at all. I think he's a great coach, and has brought this program from the pits of despair to national relevance.

That doesn't mean he's infallible. His teams have continually shown a penchant for blowing huge second half leads, and the lack of adjustments in the second half tonight on defense was just inexcusable.

I'm glad we have Kruger. But this loss falls directly at his feet.

No one is saying to fire him... diva much? We're just disappointed that he can't get the Team to the next level that we demand.. if you enjoy losing first round of March you should be happy... I'm tired of the soft sht cuz i know this team can be better

I would kill to have someone who can create their own shot and attack the rim when we need a bucket. 1 bucket could stem the tide in so many of these runs we give up and for as good as Buddy is I wish just once he'd attack while we're getting pummeled and try and force something.

No junkyard dog out there. Quannas White would never have stood for that. Neither would Hollis or Eduardo or Corey Brewer or Ryan Minor. They might have lost, but not that way...they would have made ISU earn it.

That is exactly what killed OU. They stopped running offense and tried to make individual plays. You stop a run by running offense and playing defense.

This probably won't go over well with some, but I really don't think Lon is a very good X's and O's guy, nor game day coach.

He is very good at implementing a system, recruiting to that system, and teaching it in practice. Our guys, for the most part, run their stuff pretty well. But far too many times we play unmotivated. We play vanilla. We don't make adjustments. We're just a solid, vanilla, ball club that plays solid ball.

And I've said this before, but if you go back and look at Lon's career, that is pretty much is M.O.

It is what it is. I'm glad we're a good bball team that is going to finish top 2-4 in the conference, get a nice seed in the Dance, and maybe win a game. But when you step back and look at everything as a whole, it's just kind of blah. The lack of leadership on this team just floors me.

Agree 100%. I support Kruger, but he deserves a large share of the criticism in this game. And blowing big leads is really starting to get old.

When things aren't going your way and the other team is on fire you have to have somebody shut them up, somebody who the whole team looks to to make a play. I thought buddy and cousins played great and are very good college players but they aren't that type of guy. I will say Buddy tried to do it today and I think he's gone. It's between him & Ellis for POY.
