No NIT for OU

Makes sense that OU would opt out of this. Moser will have to literally start all over with the roster, again, so more time to do that is helpful.

SEC isn't tied in with the Crown.

We done.
I believe there's still at large the Crown can take obviously OU would be the first invited. It's only a field of 8 this year though. I believe they pay out for NIL on it too.

Two at large spots, but I don't think OU would want to play. It doesn't start until the beginning of April. That's a bad timeline for a team losing a bunch of players and that needs to start Portal recruiting.

As much as I’d love to watch another OU basketball game, I agree with this. Nothing to gain from NIT games, would cost net $$ for a home game, and gets us on the recruiting trail earlier.
And subject the entire roster to more film to be scouted and stats to be leveraged. Sadly there's just no reason to play it anymore and it is going to either die off or just be a small school tourney

There's plenty of film already for any of our guys.

Much like after year 3, we're gonna have a helluva time in the portal. Winning 3 more games to get to 22 and a Crown championship doesn't negate missing the tourney, but does make things easier. Especially with another 300K to spend in NIL.

I was mocked for suggesting we do this, but it's exactly what Hoiberg did, and it's hard to argue with his results the following year.
