Is there going to be a snow storm tomorrow?
Is there going to be a snow storm tomorrow?
More like a toupe storm.
I hate Kansas.
I was at the 2002 Big-12 Tournament in Kansas City, where the Sooner beat K-State, Texas and #1 ranked Kansas on successive days.
I stayed at the OU team hotel in the Plaza area. It was an Embassy Suites with an open atrium that went floor to ceiling inside the hotel.
On the night before the championship game against KU, some KU fans showed up inside the OU team hotel, and they did the rock-chalk chant, which could be heard throughout the hotel. I had an upper room (7th floor or so) and came outside my room to listen. There standing at the rail outside my room, overlooking the atrium, was Quannas White. After listening to a few choruses of rock-chalk, Quannas shook his head, walked-off and said “KU sucks.”
What a great moment for me, an OU fan. Over decades I had seen the Sooners lose quite a few games to KU in Kemper Arena, including the 1988 national championship game. But that March day in 2001, Quannas and his Sooner friends beat the Jayhawks on their home floor.
It was fun!

That is a great story. Thanks for sharing it with us. It would be a wonderful day for all Sooner Basketball Fans if Jeff's team pulls off the upset and ENDS the six game losing streak.

That's a great story. I hate KU as well.
I will never forget watching (on tv) OU win in Allen Fieldhouse in 1984 when Wayman, Billy, and the boys (remember that song?) cut down the nets.
I know some say that wasn't very classy, but some also forget it was paybacks for KU cutting down the nets the previous year in the LNC when they beat us in Ted Owens last game in the 1st round of the Big 8 tourney (1st round was at campus sites back then).

I was at Phag Allen that night. We bought our tickets the night of the game. The place wasn't sold out. It was a great game.
Who were the guards? I have had too many Miller Lites since then.
