Outside of North Carolina playing wheels off right now, NRG Stadium is the biggest obstacle in OU's path of winning a championship. Will be interesting to see how such a heavy jump shooting team adapts to the different sight-lines and elevated floor.

Before I get roasted for this not being a big deal, last time NRG hosted this was in fact a big deal. According to Luke Winn, NRG contributed to suppressed shooting statistics during the 2011 Final Four and 2015 Regionals.

Yeah, the statics seem to show it, biggest issue might be championship game, since the final four game has two 3 pt shooting teams

Pardon the roasting, but I say it's no big deal.

Agree 100%.

How much time will the team get to spend on the court shooting before they play? A couple of hours?

Practices are generally open, but at minimum a full practice Thursday and shoot-around on Friday.

Getting plenty of practice on the court is always important imo

The past few years, I've noticed the shooters start getting used to the sightlines and raised floor in the 2nd half of their first game. So, if we can stay close early until we get our shooters used to it then we will be just fine.

If we can survive the Villanova game the turnaround for UNC to prepare for us and defending Buddy Hield gives us a slight advantage. They don't play any defense and we will force them to make shots too.

it makes a HUGE difference.

I noticed 2 games ago coach had them stop taking those shots from the wing and focus on jumpers flatter to the backboard first (then they took the others more successfully). This helps with depth cues from the backboard. Hopefully we learned a lesson.

Real shooters can make them anywhere. I'm not worried about Buddy but am about Jordan and Isiah especially with neither one of them having a shooters mentality. It's usually important for them to hit one early.

If I ruled the world, there would be no basketball games in football stadiums. It's pure greed on the NCAA's part. If you notice, the NBA plays their playoff games in their regular facilities.

I get what you are saying, but it also helps the fans, OU could get over 10,000 fans in NGR when they could maybe get 4,000 in a basketball arena

Agreed. I hate it too.

And those seats at the top of the arena, TERRIBLE for watching basketball. Just brutal.

Hopefully none of this will affect hield since he's a shooting phenom

How has it been getting tix? I'm seeing $225 min on stubhub.

I'll get to learn from experience Saturday.

It's not only the upper deck but with the court being so small you get seats that are far off from the court to the side where it just really is hard to get a view. I've done it before and it wasn't a great experience but hey better then nothing.

Seriously jealous at the folks who were able to get their ticket requests from OU.

Agreed! Especially, if you're seated in upper deck of stadium for such exorbitant price of tickets, you're getting ripped off. You could see better on a 19" screen TV!

Add 41 inches to that screen size and that's exactly what I'll be doing. :D
