If you can believe ESPN's NCAAWBB bracketology, we are headed to Storrs Conneticut for the first round of the dance to face a #9 seeded Miami. We will be the eighth seed.

If we win that one, we get the big dog -- Conneticut.

Meanwhile, in this projection, Baylor, Iowa State, aTm get to play in Texas and Oklahoma City.

Yech.

Link for you masters of women's basketball.

That projection is old, before OU beat TTU in Lubbock, and WV before losing to ISU. At the time OU was in danger of finishing well below third in the Big 12. ISU hadn't reached the conference title game and A&M wasn't SEC tourney champs.

Also, Baylor and the Aggies are hosts for the opening rounds and can play nowhere else. Creme is so-so at what he's doing, but he doesn't know where teams will be placed.

That's for the selection committee to decide.

Actually that is his latest projection dated as of today! He has us as an 8 seed with TTU and OSU as 6 seeds? It will all change but does he really get paid to do this?

I know what you mean...those goobers who make those predictions don't have a clue what they're talking about.

Too much IMO. A couple of weeks ago he showed 34 at-large teams in the tourney, when there can only be 33. He liisted 5 teams from the ACC, when in fact there were only 4 shown in the bracket.

OU is at least as likely to get a 6-seed as an 8.

Yeah, I agree. Right now we have an RPI of 30, we finished third in the toughest conference in the country. Of the top 30 teams in RPI our strength of schedule is the 15th best. Taking all into consideration, I think we have a decent chance of getting a 6 seed. At least that would put us playing potential 3's and 2's and keeps us away from #1's until later in the rounds. Could get us to sweet 16 status if we can put a nice two game run together. Never count these kids out with a good time of rest and healing. I am the ever optimist.

I think we will be a 7 seed at the least. I never trust Charlie Creme's bracketology. In all of the years I've watched women's college basketball, he has never been correct. It is just a prediction. We will find out for sure on Selection Monday.

Just FYI: Brenda VanLengen has us as a 5 or 6 seed. I think 6 or 7 is more likely, but it just goes to show how variable these "predictions" can be.

:clap

Brenda said tonight she thought we'd be a 6 seed. Will be interesting to see!
