So, I was looking for some highlights of the SFA game and as I was looking I came across the game thread from that night. These quotes are after Hield missed the second free throw:

"We're really making progress. Heavy sarcasm. This team lacks talent. We would finish 3rd in SFAs conference. We can't survive in the big12. Headed for a battle for the basement once conference play starts. At least we'll finish ahead"

"Cam Clark one trick pony! If that, SFA Freshman better than our freshman"

" I watched this entire game and went to the ORU game. OU basketball is pretty much on the level of a southland team. I think we are pretty even with ORU and SFA in talent, coaching, effort, etc. OU didnt play bad tonight.....we played our normal game. Decent defense, poor shooting, decent free throw shooting but not aggressive enough to get there, out of control offensively in transition, slow to get back on defense, and way too many turnovers."

"This is not time for experimenting anymore. Why do you keep putting M'Baye out there? Based on the last couple of games, both Fitz and Cam have out played him. M'Baye may be the softest OU player I've seen in 20 years."

"Very disappointing and discouraging loss. If Kruger is going to get us back, it's going to take longer than I had ever thought. Our talent level is sooooo low. The offensive chemistry problems are really puzzling at this point of the season. I really had high hopes for our basketball programs, men's and women's. Aaarrrgghhh!"

My goal in posting these quotes was not to make us all look like idiots for posting this stuff after that loss. Because it is a legitimate response after a loss like that... But my point is this: Look How Far This Team Has Come! Congrats to our team & coaches! You guys did one heck of a job! After a loss lime this, who would of thought we would have ended the Reg season with a shot at 21 wins? In retrospect, the only one I think who really knew what this team was about, and their potential was Lon "Freakin" Kruger! So glad he is our coach!

It's always interesting to look back on our knee-jerk reactions to a loss. But in reality, the SFA game was a turning point for this team. The progress our kids have made since that time is nothing short of remarkable. This is not even close to the same team as the one that lost to a mid-major in December.

So, in many respects that loss might have been a good thing. It served as a wake-up call that turned our season around. Even our wins to that point had not given us much hope that we were watching a future NCAA tourney team. That's certainly not the case now. Except for our troubling struggles in breaking the full court press, this OU team looks the part of one that could make some noise in post season play.

Yes. Turning point is the perfect way to put it.
