Oklahoma [16-7, 6-5] vs. Iowa State [12-11, 3-8] Game Thread

Manek can't half heartedly go and trap also btw. Its all or nothing. Can't be caught in no man's land. Bad coaching from Lon.

A lot of systemic bad coaching from Lon manifesting this season. Disappointing that were gonna waste our year with trae.

Get a 4 seed somehow and see what happens. Get Trae's trophy and move on to next year where the same players (plus some new ones) will be making the exact same mistakes.

Lon peaked with Buddy and was extremely fortunate imo

what the hell are you smoking? how is OU getting a 4 seed, we'll be lucky to NOT play on Wed in the bg12 tourney at this rate.

At this point is the team going to be left in better shape than lon found it? We had our worst year in program history last year and with no trae next year we aren't looking much better than that.

Doesn't matter if we make the tourney or the NIT, we are losing first round. We will lose first round of the big 12 tourney too.

I'm mostly tired of the TV announcers keeping on saying Wiggington is totally outplaying TY and how excited he is to be completely dominating TY. If so, let's see if they put I State on TV every game, and advertise 50 times per day the next TV game I State is playing. Let's see if Wig is making several million next year.

Don't look for it to happen.

That honestly has nothing to do with what they're saying and is a totally different and irrelevant argument

gonna keep saying it but Lon's assistants are not good enough....no development going on 2-3 years from some of these guys.

I've been saying it, too. What we also need are assistants who can help Coach Kruger get the guys who don't seem to want to play (McGusty, Doolittle, Freeman) to buy in. Shep has bought in, but he's a 3rd or 4th guy off the bench - so when he becomes your 6th man, the team is in trouble.

I don't think in a million years anyone could have predicted our 4 sophomores to have either not improved or taken a gigantic step backward.

Some of you are picking on Lattin quite a bit. Yes, there are times it is frustrating to watch him pull a 50/50 rebound, but I think it's more lack of strength than will. He's out there trying, and that's what we need from our sophomores.

Finally, McGusty not playing was telling.

Lon has been extremely poor the last month. When you define your team by offense and are absolutely unwilling to have any semblance of identity on the defensive side of the ball, then the conference schedule will chew you up.

If this was his strategy all along then it qualifies as pathetic.

Because officiating is horrible and they change from year to year what they are going to call.

Does anyone know when they changed the rules so you can go over someone's back, knock them to the floor, and lay on top of them for several seconds - with no foul being called.

well to be honest, he did. Nothing wrong with that. TY makes some really poor choices sometimes, it is what it is.

The other side is Wiggington has a good support cast...Trae not so much.

Don't let our solid wins in the beginning of the season get lost on you.. We have a good resume of wins. Might be the best...

I was saying 4 seed is our ceiling (ie. If we damn near win out)

There's a reason we we're ranked 17 just this week...

:ez-roll::ez-roll::ez-roll:

Where have you been??? They changed that LAST year!!!

We probably shouldn't whine about officiating when Trae commits an offensive foul that isnt' called on almost every single possession.

It may be called when they go to Kansas

Well, one major difference is we did not have someone assigned to shove him every second, knock him down, cut his leg, etc.

It has gotten out of control. If teams want to play that way, there should be a price to pay. And the price should be several players sitting on the pine watching the game beside the coach.

And we won't be ranked this coming week. To get a #4 seed, we'll need at least 21-22 wins.

16 -17 wins = NIT
18 wins = 10-12 seed
19 wins = 7-10 seed
20 wins = 5-7 seed
21 wins = 4-5 seed

+1

But good luck getting that to happen.
