Oklahoma 6A High School Tourney thread

If West wins I think that would be the first time the PC district played each other for the championship. West never used to be any good at any sports till the last couple years.

Midwest City beat PC West. So it's Putnam City vs. MWC in the final tomorrow night. You should tune in to watch Dom Raney and Trey Payne from PC.

Dominique Raney is the best player in this state and should be a sooner.

You don't know what your talking about.

West became a school in 1970. In 74 we played for the basketball title in 4A vs Capitpl Hill. Steve Neff was recruited nation wide as a post. In 75-76 we were in the finals in baseball. In 78 PCW vs PC, (Tinsley vs Phelps) for the 4A title in football and it was called the HS football game of the decade. Mike Little who is one of the best HS HCs in Oklahoma built a great program. Bill Young, current osu DC cut his teeth at West in the mid 70s. PCW, MWC, PC, Moore, BTW and Norman were the powers in 4A, the largest class.

West had a great sports program during the 70s and many received scholarships. Since the mid 80s things have gone south until lately.

You must have gone to HS in the 90s or 2000s because we kicked ass and took names in the 70s.

We sent the OUHoops camera crew to one of his games recently to get some footage of him and Tyler Neal. From what I saw he's really impressive, and extremely quick. Anyway, we'll try and get that posted some point soon.

I know West didn't do anything since I've followed HS sports. They were good in football a couple years ago and good at basketball this year.

I think it became a school before then, no? My dad graduated from West in 70. He was either in the first class or one of them. And he went to West at least 2 years. Went to Original before West was built.

PCW might have opened in 69 with the 1st graduating class in 70. I cant remember for sure. The 1st year there were no seniors, I remember that for sure.

The battles between Steve Neff and Winford Boynes of Capitol Hill in 73-74 were legendary. Boynes was one of the best players to ever come out of Oklahoma. He played college ball at San Francisco. Neff had letters from everyone including UCLA, seeking his interest. He led Bethany Nazarene to the small college national championship.
