Osu gets worked by VaTech..

Yeah I don't know if I'd say we were "worked."

We led the game until about 10 minutes left, and then they were up 5-6 points until fouls and free throws pushed the final margin to 10.

All in all, it's a disappointing loss, because I think we're better than them, but at the end of the day losing a road game to an ACC team isn't the end of the world, considering we already have a couple of quality wins under our belt. I'd be more upset with the loss if we had performed poorly in Puerto Rico.

Hopefully it'll be a learning opportunity for some of the young guys on the team.

You have one quality win under your belt. Not only that, but fans of the conference and team of your one quality are expecting that team to implode. If they lost to UConn this week then they will not be ranked, giving you 0 quality wins.

Tough game on the road. OSU played a good first half and led much of the game but got out played in the 2nd half.

Still seems to be a much improved team early in the season.

A team has to be ranked in the top 25 to be a quality win?

Oh -- I see... so you're predicting the future now?

What exactly makes you think they're going to "implode?" Their only other loss on the season besides OSU was losing by 6 points at #3 Michigan.

That's a signal that they're ready to "implode?" OK.

V Tech isn't a powerhouse like ORU or Northwestern LA State. I'm sure OU would have blown V Tech out since they were able to squeak out a win against the mighty Northwestern State Louisiana Demons at home in the final minutes.

I know it's strange to step outside your Stillwater bubble and look at college basketball around you. Like I mentioned, N.C. State is a team known for it's implosion. Grantland wrote an article after their loss to you guys detailing the teams history for constantly not living up to exceptions.

So, I'm not only using the teams performance this season, but also their history, and updated expectations given by ACC analysts and their own fan base. Not only that, but C.J. Leslie and Rodney Purvis haven't made near the strides they reportedly had made during the offseason. N.C. State fans believe that almost everyone on their current roster was over hyped or severely under performing. Again, these are all things you might know if you visited other sites aside from this one and (presumably) Orangepower.

And as far as "predicting the future," I am making a reasonable hypothesis based on the performance of N.C. State/UConn. Seeing as how N.C. State is currently favored by 4, predicting UConn to come out on top wouldn't be seen as predicting a major upset.

OSU ranked, signed the best player in the state and will have a top 25 recruiting class, a roster with multiple draft picks.

OU unranked without a draft pick on the roste

Let's try to keep up on the court and polls cause Lonnie obviously isn't doing it on the recruiting trail.

Nice change of subject.

And you still average 3,000 butts in the seats for your ranked program and it's ballyhooed recruits. Your coach is a whiny underachiever who is grossly oversigned/overpaid. You are a sad man/woman coming over here trumpeting your pathetic program on a rival's messageboard.

I bet you guys make the Gonzaga game "free", give away 3 scooters to the students, and still have a putrid crowd in your way-too-big-for-your-fanbase arena. Enjoy!

I feel bad for Marcus Smart...he deserves better.

So? They'll be ranked b/c of their record. A record generated from playing the 284th toughest schedule so far. :facepalm

Have you watched Virginia Tech play? They are good. You can throw out there SOS...but they are good. They have some good guards.

Here is the problem with your contention... Your Coach whom you are implying is tearing it up on the recruiting trail isn't getting it done on the court. He has had some pretty great players in his tenure there (2 Top 25 recruiting classes & one of the un-ranked classes had Lebryan Nash); and what is your NCAA Tournament record (1-3)? How many times have you been ranked in the top 25 (First time in his tenure happened this year)? How many wins does he have (270 wins)? What is his Big 12 record (31-66)? I will obviously take a coach who has 500 wins and multiple trips to the sweet 16, Elite 8 & one final four trip. Compared to a guy who can barely get out the first round of the tournament (the only time that happened was in 2009 where he was really coaching someone else's guys).

The measure of a coach is more than just the recruiting trail... In fact Recruiting is just 1 out of many other categories which are very important. Lon has Travis beat in all but the recruiting category.

In Lon we will trust! :krugs

Agree, except for one thing...OSU is better than us right now.

And yet we'll still probably split with them.

Also, they aren't in the 2nd year of a rebuild. You are comparing two teams, two programs that didn't "start over" at the same time.
