OSU loses to Pitt

No bad losses, one above average win. I'll take it. Virginia Tech will end up crappy as usual but we play them again at home to hopefully make it a wash. We are still in good shape even if we lose to alabama. Need to beat new mexico and vt. Only a few big 12 teams have true road wins this year.

st louis will be ranked again in about 2 weeks ... and the thing is osu fans have been talking trash like osu would contend in the big12 ...

Then you should have no problem finding some old posts. All you'll find is ab and the osu troll that was here for all of one week, the name eludes me.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it isn't as black and white as you make it seem.

Exactly. No OSU fan that reasonably discusses some hoops on here said OSU would compete for the conference title. If there were it was worthless trolls.

Yah, and that one team you have played that has a pulse pistol whipped you by 20 on a neutral court. That's the point. 7-1 with that JV schedule is no different than OSU's 5-3. OU would have been solid dogs to V-Tech, Pitt, and Stanford.

If OU and OSU played today, on a neutral court, who wins? I'd say most people probably think OU is playing the better basketball right now. Considering preseason expectations, that is saying something.

Not sure you can go that far. As of now realtimerpi says osu sos ranks 76 while OU sits at 117. Thats 5th in the big 12 for OU. I'll be interested to see how things turn out outside of lloyd noble, but you can't argue what confidence can do for you and at this point OU should/does have more confidence than OSU.

Personally, I think OSU is going to looking for a new coach soon. I just don't think Travis Ford is meeting expectations. He has not been horrible but he also hasn't been particularly good. A couple more bubble or NIT seasons and I think OSU will move in a different direction. If he gets them in the top 4 in the conference, I think they will give him more time.

If they played today I would pick ou, but this may change by the time they actually play. OSU is young and seems to be getting better every game. I am interested to see where both teams will be in a month.

No way that happens with Smart coming in and Ford having 5+ years left on his contract. We are 8 games into our season. Plenty of basketball left to play and your kidding yourself if you think osu has tapped out our potential.

I think the team that shoots better on that particular night wins. If OU is hitting 3 point shots they will be tough to beat. The problem is they will have off nights.

I haven't seen OSU play yet this season so I really can't say much about them.

If he doesn't make the NCAA's this year or next he will be gone. I like Ford as a coach and the last couple of years I have liked his recruiting. My problem is that every year OSU seems to be young. His first two recruiting seasons were junk and on top of this he loses players every off season. He needs to start making better recruiting choses and retaining some of these players.

Stanford is horrible. We would have beaten them easily the way we are playing. That was a bad loss for you guys. Their program is nothing. That was pure Johnny Dawkins out-coaching Travis Ford. OSU is way more talented than they are.

If OU fans posted stuff like this on an OSU board, they would be permabanned instantly.

Stanford is 30th in the AP poll (others receiving votes) and 7-1 with their only loss being to #5 ranked Syracuse by 6 points in Madison Square Garden in the championship game of the preseason NIT. They're 17th in the Sagarin rankings and 35th in real time RPI. You're delusional if you think OU would have beaten Stanford easily. Unfortunately, reality wont start settling in until around January 3rd. Neither OU or OSU have shown anything to make anyone think they're tournament caliber teams.

Horrible? Stanford had the 'Cuse on the ropes in MSG...which is ultimately a road game for the Cardinal.

I'm savoring the deep irony of an aggie fan pointing fingers at other schools for their weak scheduling. It's been especially true in football, but has held true in hoops, too, that oswho has long made a practice of fattening up their win total by playing weak sisters in advance of conference play.
