OSU opinions of Ford vs. Kruger

Looks like the Ford honeymoon may be coming to an end at OSU. If he continues to underachieve with the recruits he brings in, one has to wonder how much longer he can survive?

Having said that, you've got to appreciate the honesty of the fans who made those comments. It can't be easy to give OU's head coach and our players credit for a superior effort in last night's win.

I've said all along that Travis Ford landing Marcus Smart was great for OU because it got OSU fans fired up and supporting Ford when they should have been demanding his head.

That's exactly what I was thinking, Denver. And I fully expect the Sooners to beat the Aggies in Stillwater if we go in there reasonably healthy.

Ford and Drew remind me so much of Quinn Snyder from Missouri about 10-12 years ago. They can recruit top talent but can't coach worth a lick.

I'd take Quin over either, honestly. If not for a disaster of a personal life, I still think he could have done well. He's apparently straightened that stuff out and seems to be respected among NBA circles, and his pre-Mizzou resume was impeccable. I have a hard time seeing Drew or Ford as NBA head coaching candidates.

Funny you bring this up, I've said the same thing about BG and Capel. He got us into a longer contract with him to let him fully drive us into a ditch, when if we never got BG in the first place he would have shown his lack of coaching ability and missing out on recruits earlier.

Never drew the connection to Ford, but it's funnier and worse for them because they gave him that ridiculous 10 year contract

Capel just didn't recruit well or evaluate talent.

I have some aggie friends on facebook and they have been lamenting ad nauseum about the Big 12 officiating. Mainly their game at Larryville, and I understand because most teams get the raw end of the officiating in AF, but also complaining about Monday night. Of course I'm an OU fan, but I didn't think the officiating was slanted either way. The biggest difference in that game was in coaching and it's not even close.

Do you think OU or OSU has the more talented personnel?

I like OUs personnel but if you were to take the top 5 of each team and pick the 5 best, you have to include Smart, Clark, Spangler, Brown and Nash as the best 5. To me, OSU has a more talented roster than OU and that's no disrespect to OU at all.
