For anyone who might be driving north or south on highway 75 over the holidays - be aware that highway 75 is narrowed to one lane in each direction in the thriving metroplis of Savannah, OK. It usually takes about 5 minutes or less to drive through Savannah. This afternoon, it took me about 20 minutes. If I had been driving north, it would have taken much longer as there were multiple fender benders and traffic was backed up over 2 miles south of Savannah.

I've never understood why it's highway 75 when I leave Tulsa and highway 75 when I get to Dallas, but it's highway 69 in the middle. Makes no sense to me.
75 separates at Henryetta where the Indian Nations Turnpike begins. 75 goes concurrent with I40 west a few miles, and then splits off at Pharoah to go south through Weleetka, Wetumka, and on south to Atoka, where it rejoins 69.

Ugggh, I really, really want to say something improper here. I'll let it go.

Coming from the south (Dallas), it's just U.S. 75 until you get to Denison. That's where 69 comes up from the southeast. It's a "duplex" of 69 and 75 until you get to Atoka, then the busier road is 69 from there until you get to Vinita. U.S. 75 goes due north from Atoka towards Tulsa (it's also a "duplex" with OK for a few miles out of Atoka) and 69 goes through Stringtown, McAlester and Muskogee.
