Easy with the John Potter stuff.

I went to OSU's camp when I was younger, and Potter (I believe) pulled me aside and asked me how I was so good at using my off hand at that age. Dude is cool in my book. :)

Potter beat me in the hot shot competition at Billy Tubbs basketball camp in 1985. He won it and I finished 3rd. I think he only beat me and the 2nd place by less than 10 points.

This and playing against Will Shields in high school (football) are my claims to fame. LOL
 
Johnny Jones has a nice resume, and we could get him for relatively little money. I'd prefer BCG though.
 
If Joe C is going to try and hire another cheap mid-major guy, I'd just assume get Terry Evans.

And put me in the "No way in hell" category Manning comes here as an assistant.

Not that he wouldn't be intriguing or that I wouldn't take him, I just doubt he's going to make that lateral move.

I could recruit to Kansas. Ok maybe not me per se, but it isn't hard to do. Put Danny Manning at Oklahoma and John Doe at Kansas. John Doe would probably recruit just as well or better.

Hard to compete with their bankroll/thousand dollar handshakes at moon bar. When an ugly guy in a ugly blue turtleneck pays for your stripper/hooker, cocaine, and offers you cash/makes sure you are eligible to play basketball, it's hard for 17-18 year olds to pass up, who mostly come from nothing.

If BCG wants to hire Danny Manning, then it must be for a very good reason. Maybe BCG thinks (knows) that Manning is, if fact, a very good recruiter.

Of course, there is likely no truth to the BCG-Manning rumor anyway, but I'm just sayin' ...

Why would Joe C fly to Denton? Unless he was going on to somewhere else afterwards or stopping on his way back. It is much easier to go under the radar by driving that distance. The time is not that big of a deal.

Uh no. The guy has a great house in Lawrence and has stated how much he loves being there. Please tell me why on earth this would ever happen? People just throw out some stupid sh#$.
 
I think Manning would be a great assistant coach hire. His big men at KU have always gotten tons better under his tutelage.

I don't like him personally, I attended a wedding he also attended and he acted like a punk when my seven year old daughter asked for an autograph for her grandmother (A die-hard KU fan). It wasn't like everyone in the joint was asking for it, he should have been happy that four hours from Lawrence someone knew who he was.
