Game starts at 8 p.m. tonight and you can watch it online here:

Scroll down to the bottom and click the Howard vs. Three Rivers link under the Saturday, March 20 listing.

A lot of people think Carter's recruitment is coming down to OU and Gonzaga. We'll have to see if anyone else gets involved.

For those who may have missed the threads about him this week, he's the brother of former Sooner Nate Carter and a 6-4 point guard.

I'll also point out that the njcaa site archives games, which will allow you to go back and watch Carter by clicking on a game played earlier in the tournament.

I have seen parts of three of his games. I wasn't overly impressed with him in the first game I watched, but I really liked what I saw of him in the last two. He's a point guard who is really good at running the offense and getting his teammates involved. He doesn't shoot much from the three, although he appeared to have a nice tough in a shot I saw him make from long range. There could have been others I missed. He also has good size and strength.

Marquis handles the ball well and I didn't see him turn it over much. Like his older brother, Nate, he is really good at penetrating and scoring or drawing fouls. He also shoots a high percentage from the free throw line where he gets a lot of his points. One other thing I really liked is that he seems to have a feel for when his team needs him to score or to make big plays. Judging by what I saw, this kid would be a good get for OU!

Granted I only got to watch Marquise Carter live one time, but he reminded me of Omar Leary with better looking form on his jumpshot. Like Leary, Carter is a steady ball handler who doesn't force much and makes really conservative plays. He is not going to wow you athletically, and he didn't show me much in the way of driving the basketball except for a runner that he likes to take around the free throw line. His shot release is a little slow.

Any chance that he could play the tradtional "2" and help with defense, ball-handling duties? Just curious.

Sounds a little like Corey Brewer with his size and ability to get to the hole and get fouled.

I hate doing the comparison to former sooners, but after watching the film at the NCJAA website, to me it was like watching a right hand Terrell Everett. His basketball IQ is probably higher than Everett's though. Not a great athlete, but a very crafty player. The thing I liked about him best is despite being the best scorer on the team, his pg philosophy was to set up the post entry every time down court.

Remember watching Kelvin cringe when TE did the off the glass to Taj for the dunk? God bless those two, had it been missed, they were in some deep, deep, turd.

If he is like Terrell Everett then Jeff Capel needs to make him a top priority.... That would be a game changer and along with some other good recruits (Cam Clark included) could change the fortune of OU basketball in a hurry.

Marquise just pulled up for an NBA three in some dude's grill. He's got 18 of Three Rivers' 38 with 17 minutes to go in the game.

He tries to get into the lane which is a plus. Don't know if he'll do it when he gets to OU, but I sure hope so.

Who is the #24 kid for the blue team...J Crowder or something? Man he looks good

Crowder is committed to Marquette. Carter looks really, really good to me.

I just started watching the game....Carter looks to be similiar to baylors pg...but for the little bit I have been watching I have yet to see carter hustle....he lags off his man by 2 or 3 feet on defense and when he gets the ball on offense the offense seems to stop to wait on what he is going to do...not sure if that is good but maybe he would change coming into OU

I could see him being a good player but not hustling is no good

Interesting how they don't use Carter to bring the ball up against the press at times. I know the strategy, it's to get your pg to get the catch in the soft spots to break the press. It also is indicative that Carter's not going to blow by the press singlehandedly. I kind of fear us being pressed next year.

I dont think this kid can come in and be the primary point guard...I just dont see enough talent there....more of a leary kid...which I loved leary so I think carter could help us...assuming tmg leaves I think we need to bring in a pg that can start for us...maybe have two guys and have carter and another kid split time would be well....

Game went to overtime and the feed got choppy. That happening for anyone else?

We need to convince Jae Crowder to switch from Marquette to us. He's not signed.
