I couldn't agree more! Johnson could have been the answer for us this season, but for the type of player she wants to be (more of a wing), she doesn't have a good enough shot for that. She doesn't seem confident enough to assert herself down low, and Culliton is slowly adjusting to the speed of Div. I ball and starting to contribute. I suppose that's why she was rated a top 100 ESPN recruit and Johnson wasn't. I hope Johnson sticks it out, learns and works HARD in the off-season in the weight room and on the court, because she can contribute for us in the future. I hope Culliton does the same. I almost hope Scott sticks around next season so we have that experience down low if we aren't able to pick up a transfer Big, or the returnees and Allen aren't good enough to be productive. That being said, JB desperately needs to pick up a productive 6'4" transfer player, if she picks anyone up!
They're both fresmen, but the main difference right now between Johnson and Culliton is that Culliton has developed and Johnson hasn't. I'm encouraged with the way Beatrice has played recently. Hope that Johnson will soon realize that she needs to use her 6-4 frame to her advantage down low, and quit chucking up those gosh-awful 16-footers (if she gets to see the floor at all, that is).
