OU vs Tulsa

Maddie had 12 pts in the first half. Would like to see her match that in the 2nd half.

We were a lot better with Kay Kay on the court. We moved better with the starters in the game. LaNesia and T'Ona try too hard.

Tulsa is not a good basketball team. We can pretty much do anything we want to.

56-38
Maddie with 17, a career high.
Reserves getting a lot of time.
Sloppy.

59-38 at the end of three. Maddie 17, Kay Kay 15, Derica 10. I get the feeling that they are playing around for fun.

75-62 final
Very uninspired effort
Kay Kay 21 Maddie 19 Derica 10
We shot 40% from the field, 26.1% from three
Only hit three of our last eight free throws

We let them back into the game with 12 turnovers in the second half.
Kay Kay with 21 and 12. Maddie with 19 and 7. That's about all we had tonight. Derica did make an effort. Others barely showed up.

It was a miracle we won this game. I was in nearly panic mode fearing their coach would look down the bench and realize she had a player who was better than anyone we could put on the floor.

But fortunately she forgot to put her in the game.

The Bahamas, the W est Coast and now on the road at Tulsa. Not surprised we didn't have our best effort.

It is interesting that Kay Kay is now #1 in scoring. Peyton did up her FT% to 80%. Maddie is now shooting 50% from three. We have six scoring at least seven a game. Now, it is becoming more of who will step up.

Thanks Syb and all for updates and scores. Maddie starting to come on - I am delighted.

Our defense and effort in the second half was truly appalling. Peyton had one of her worst games in a long time. The two turnovers she made in the last minute were very uncharacteristic. It's almost like she had completely lost focus and interest in the game.

I was also disappointed in the production from Treece tonight. She really struggled out there.

Ortiz played well, but she couldn't make anything. She has to start shooting the ball better from the perimeter.

The good news is that Manning looks like she really might be coming on strong.

Tulsa did make up some ground in the 4th quarter, but a big reason for that was the fact we allowed subs to play most of that quarter.

I expect Sherri wanted to let them get some meaningful experience - and I expect it was a gesture of respect toward Tulsa's coach and players.

Any relationship between Tulsa's Coach Mossman and Kenny Mossman at OU?

Yes, they were married and now divorced. That's how Matilda ended up in Norman. She also was former K-State head coach and Arkansas head coach in the 80's.

Thanks for posting that link. She has had a very successful career - and seems like a great coach. I didn't realize she had coached at Norman - just like Sherri did.

I wonder if she and Sherri are friends on some level?

Thanks again for posting that link.

I think they are friends. I'm pretty sure that Sherri helped get Kadan Brady (from Healdton, OK) a scholarship at TU when Matilda was hired in Tulsa.
