OU vs. WSU

Will be a very tough game. WSU has been very good defensively so far. They've only played two good teams (West Virginia and OSU) and split those games. OSU was easily their best game. They've been very good at forcing teams to settle for mid-range jumpers. They don't have one guy who carries them offensively, but have a few players capable of having big games. I don't expect us to have an efficient offensive night. Then again, North Texas is a good defensive team and that game turned into a shootout.

I'm afraid the home crowd will make the difference, but obviously would love to be wrong. Either way, this is a great game to prepare us for Big 12 play...good opponent in a very tough environment.

Honestly would take WSU in that bet, but that's the fun of college basketball. Sometimes teams gel or go on hot streaks. Sometimes coaching makes a difference. Sometimes Austin Reaves scores 35 in a revenge scenario. We'll see.

I live in Valley Center just outside Wichita and friends with many WSU fans. I graduated from WSU but also a lifelong Sooner fan, so will always root for OU over WSU. Several of my friends have various Austin Reaves signs ready for the game. One says something like, "Austin Reaves cried during Frozen 2." Others aren't as mild as that. My gut says the crowd is going to give Austin a pretty rough time. So I hope Austin takes that all to heart and just goes off!! I'm also interested in how the post game hand shake goes down between Austin and Marshall, considering what happened (or supposedly happened) with Marshall's daughter. Should be fun to watch either way. Last time at Intrust, Trae went off....so it's Austin's turn!

Also, I was at the last match up a few years ago and the crowd was pretty rough. Several told me to sit down when I would stand up and cheer a good play or score by OU. One lady was seconds away, it seemed, from losing her cool until her husband told to her sit down and be quiet (reminding her I had every right to cheer for my team). They were pretty butt hurt after that game as well, unlike the prior year where they were loudly celebrating leaving Chesapeake. I'll be there again today cheering OU on just like last time!

Any chance the lady was Lynn Marshall? Kidding aside, I fully expect their fans to be all over Reaves. They take their cue from Marshall and his family, so it's no surprise that they aren't the classiest bunch. Marshall didn't come out and directly rip Reaves when he left, but he also didn't exactly wish him well. I'm sure they will boo him during introductions, and perhaps every time he touches the ball. They are good defensively and will make him a priority, so we need other guys to step up.
