Head Coach Lon Kruger ||||||||||||||||||||
On team's overall performance:

"It was a great weekend for us. It was a couple of good wins and you always like that, but even more importantly I thought we learned a lot, especially from the first two ball games. We played clearly our best today against a very good West Virginia ball club so we'll take a lot from this and recognize what we've got to continue to work on and hopefully just keep getting better."

On playing West Virginia in Big 12 conference play:
"It's a terrific ball club, and Bob (Huggins) does such a good job. The game today could have gone either way and I imagine the next two will be similar in terms of being very hard-fought and very tough."

On tournament experience:
"It's a great setting. ESPN does a great job with all its tournaments and to have it at Disney World and the opportunities that that affords, all the families and players enjoy it."

Junior F Amath M'Baye ||||||||||||||||||||
On his offensive performance:

"I felt amazing, and it's even better bouncing back from a couple of games where I felt I didn't do my job. My teammates did an amazing job keeping me in the game and helping me keep my head up. My coaches did a great job of telling me to stay the course and keep working. Everybody helped me out a lot and it's really a team effort."

On ending tournament with a win against West Virginia:
"It's the difference between being 2 and 1 or 1 and 2. It's big, especially against an opponenet that we're going to see in the Big 12. We're probably going to play them two or three times, and having that little edge on them is something that feels good, especially knowing the Big 12 first. It's good to know that we've beat them before so we can beat them again. It's better that they come in the Big 12 knowing what to expect."

OU got the win despite committing a season-high 27 fouls

I was just thinking that last year this would have killed us. It's great to have some depth finally.

No doubt about it, depth was the difference today. No way we could have survived the onslaught of fouls last year.
