The other day an article was posted about Patty Gasso who heard about Georgia Casey, a really good softball player in Australia. She packed up her family and they traveled there to watch her play and get to know her. No mention that any assistant coaches went on the trip. Patty offered her, she accepted, and the rest is history.

Has anyone heard of Sherri doing something similar when looking for players abroad?

Does Sherri have the budget to recruit overseas? I'm sure that could be a major part of not looking at overseas players.

Good question but I would think her recruiting budget exceeds that of Gasso.

SC and the OU teams have taken at least one trip abroad to Europe in the past. But they have some recruiters abroad...AParis, CParis, DRob, AThompson

When Sherri was leading the USA World University Games team, while in qualifying for the tournament she noticed a talented player on the Puerto Rican squad.

Name: Gileysa Penzo.

Sherri has taken teams to Europe, Austrailia, and coached USA teams either as head or assistant. I am sure if she saw a kid that would warrant an opportunity she would extend an offer.
