PA Announcer

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is bothered by it. Did her not hear Whiteny announce it properly?

Are you sure that is not the right way to say it it? You would think that he researched that. Surely the staff would say something if it was wrong.

Can one of y'all enlighten the rest of us? Brian Brinkley pronounces it "Pierre-Lou-ie," which didn't surprise me, as I would think that's pronouncing it in the French manner. However, I also know when some folks come to the U.S. they make an attempt to Anglicize the pronunciation so Okies like me don't stumble over it too much. And at least today the p.a. announcer pronounced it like in St. Louis,Mo.

She is comfortable with both. Just my opinion but I think she doesn't want a fuss made over her name so has asked that it be pronounced like the city.

As a Cardinal fan, I've heard St. Louis pronounced both ways. I've heard The St. Louie Blues more than Louis.
