Paradise Island

I was wondering the same thing. I have found the past couple years that they aren't all that likely to offer packages for basketball trips, but hope this tourney is an exception. Any info would be much appreciated!

Your best bet for information on issues like this is to call the OU basketball office.

Has anyone ever been taken down to the Paradise City?

I was just in Nassau for my honeymoon a few weeks ago. Stayed at Sandals, but have stayed at Atlantis before a long time ago. That trip should be a blast for anyone who can make it.

I went to the Battle 4 Atlantis last time we were there with Buddy. We stayed in the cheaper resort next door. It was awesome. We want to go this year, but my wife wants to stay at Atlantis. Not sure if we have the jack for that and snowskiing later...

If Wiscy is there again be prepared to be annoyed. They brought their whole state. Super annoying fans... Only a trickle of North Carolina, Florida, UCLA, Butler fans. Fans with much more tradition than Wisconsin. Butler fans were cool.

Wisconsin basketball fans apparently "travel well" with their team. Congratulations to them for that.

Historically, there have been so few OU fans at the Big-12 (Big-8) basketball tournament in Kansas City, that we have been too few to be annoying .. to any one. Over the years, the same has been true for most NCAA tournament regional games.

Most Big 12 football fans think OU fans are annoying.

Which Big 12 fans don't other Big 12 fans find annoying?

It's a given that the most successful program in any given conference or league (and its fans) will be resented by the other programs. The only non-annoying fans are generally those of teams that are rarely, if ever, a factor.

Actually, at least in the Big 12 and Texas, most of the Texas teams hate OU regardless of their own success level. For instance, Texas Tech fans are amongst the most jealous, deranged, and overall low class fans out there for a team with little to no success to speak of. Texas fans are obnoxious EVEN MORE when they have success. I think what you mean is a school like Purdue isn’t because they don’t really care. The problem with most Texas schools is they have a higher opinion of themselves than they should, and when OU repeatedly whips that *, it drives them crazy in their hatred of us. It’s the same but to a much lesser extent nationally.

I was actually surprised at the Wiscy fans. Two other groups of fans from the Big 10 I’d been around, Iowa and TOSU, were overwhelmingly classy and fun to be around. Totally opposite of Texas schools.

I guess now that I think about it, while annoying.... compared to Texas schools I’d take being around Badger fans any day.

I was thinking of ISU and KU, actually. And I've never attended a game at either location, so I don't know from firsthand experience, just hearsay.

I think this is true... OU is the evil empire to everyone else, especially considering success in both sports. KU, for example, can only boast success in basketball. But OU is regularly better than pretty much the entire league in basketball and football, with an exception to KU in basketball.

Must really drive Texas nuts, being the flagship school in a state with an enormous talent pool.

I'm guessing that they just think you are annoying. As does every single other poster on this board.

I like you.

I went four years ago. The packages through OU were more expensive than through the hotel. The hotel offered a package that included tickets to all of OU’s games. You just had to go to will call each morning to pick up the tickets, which were handed out first-come, first-serve based on location within the tickets they allocated to OU fans. They were typically behind the OU bench.

Because Wisconsin brought so many fans they were behind us in the finals. One guy yelled for us to sit down. Still not happy about that.

not really having traveled to every big 12 venue multible times (sans texas football)

OU has a very very good traveling reputation (execpt from osu fans)
