Went 23-11 this year with Lamar.

Just like Sean with Eddie, I think it's impossible to be the son of a great coach and spend so much time around them, and not absorb at least some ability. But, following your father, and starting in a High-Major job is not ideal.

Hopefully, he can find success at Lamar, and work his way up. I tend to like the guy.

Pat Knight doesn't strike me to be as pure evil as Eddie, Sean and Bobby though.

I suspect Pat Knight knows quite a bit about coaching. He will probably make his way back to the major level. If not, he made some good money and will have a solid job in the mid-majors. I suspect Lamar pays more than most people make in this county.

Speaking of Lamar related. Did Billy Tubbs, son Tommy, ever go into coaching?

Pat Knight is an ass, will never respect that guy.

Little known fact about his rant...every game afterwards his team was favored to win, people make it sound like it was some amazing turnaround but really they should have won those games. With that said, kudos for him to getting it done.

Biggest problem I've had with his rant and the reactions is when the team was struggling, it was the seniors fault. Now, that they're in the dance, everyone is lumping praise on Knight...great precedent.

Don't know anything more than what I have seen on TV, but he ssemed like a good dude when interviewed and the other coaches seemed to speak highly of him. Billy hired him at Lamar. That might have been as a favor to Bobby. I know Billy and Bobby are good friends. Which, at least to me, seems like an odd couple or unlikely pair to be friends.

I agree that the TTech deal couldn't have worked, and he will better off out of his dad's shadow and not playing such tough teams ever night.

I would also like to know what happened to Tubbs boy. did he go into coaching? I know one thing, his daughter (can't think of her name) was one of the hottest girls on campus when she was there.

Why do you say Billy hired him at Lamar? Is Tubbs still the AD? I assumed when he came back to Norman he left that job.

Saw Billy interviewed and he said he hired him. I don't know what Billy has been doing the last few years, except color for some of our games. But, apparently, he was at Lamar when the decision was made. It was during the same interview that he said that he and Bobby had been good friends for a long time. He didn't say that is why he hired Pat.
