I was in the OU section (about 5 rows behind Buddy, Spangler, and Jordan's parents) and everyone around me was as loud and enthusiastic as we could be the entire game. I'm not sure how loud it sounded to the rest of the arena/on TV, but it sounded loud in our section and I barely have a voice! I was expecting there to be a TON of Oregon fans (mainly because, as oudna said, there's so many grads in LA), but Duke fans surprisingly outnumbered them. And Duke fans are incredibly vocal and terrible. The Oregon fans who were there were loud, but the number of them shouldn't be intimidating to the players. Granted, I imagine a lot of Duke fans will be selling their Saturday tickets to some Oregon fans, so it could be worse for the elite eight game. But if so, I'll be sure to cheer extra loud to make up for it!
Also, It was so cool to watch all of the players' families interact. They've definitely formed a major bond over the years. I was sitting around a handful of former basketball and football players, and OU softball great Lauren Chamberlain came over to say hi and introduce herself and ask where I was from. Such a class act. There are so many great ambassadors for the university!
Though I wish there was beer in the arena, I had such a blast and can't wait for Saturday!
