I like her game. She works hard on defense, gets some rebounds and steals. She will have to shoot her way out of her slump and I know she is reluctant to try to do so for fear of hurting her team. I wish she would do a Cousins and move into the gym until her shots start to fall(along with some others - principally Maddie).
Can we enforce a time limit on Ortiz such that she is not permitted to dribble for more than 2.5 seconds!!
When she is shooting well we are a much better team. It relieves the pressure to use the post too much.

Peyton was turning down shots, particularly in the 4th. She's losing all confidence in her offense. This may be worse than Aaryn's slumps her last two years. Remember, Sherri had to bench her.

Peyton scored 16 points today, second only to ViVi. She may not be hitting her 3's but she's contributing in other ways.

Yes, she finally woke up and did something. The last few minutes. She isn't consistent enough. She's in a slump. She needs to be on the bench for a bit.

I think her stress fracture in her foot is really hurting her shooting. Jumping up and down really can hurt. Not to mention just running and cutting on it. She was the best HS shooter from 3 point land I had ever seen in Texas.

That could be and I remember Peyton and she was a very good shooter. It seems her shot has changed or maybe it is that the college game is so much faster but she shoots it way out front and needs time to get it off - it seems she can't find her rythym IMO

I don't remember her benching Aaryn. I remember she was out a couple of different times her senior season for a concussion. Do you mean she didn't get as many minutes as usual? And not saying you are wrong, just saying I don't remember.

Peyton has a stress fracture or is this an old injury that could be bothering her?

If we were getting 16 points per game from Maddie when her 3s weren't falling, no one would be worried about Peyton.

If I remember correctly, she had a pretty bad slump in her junior and senior years and Sherri finally pulled her from the starting line-up in a couple of games to help get her to relax. She was really tight and missing everything.

I can't really remember all the details and I might have split one season's events into two. I'm old, but I clearly remember talking about it here and elsewhere.

I saw on the Texas thread that someone posted she looked tired and questioned her health. The last few minutes she didn't seem physically tired to me.

I am just wondering out loud, but is it possible she's getting tired of playing basketball? That seems pretty far-fetched, I would agree, but sometimes kids who have played a long time just all of a sudden just turn it off.

Any thoughts?

I think Peyton is just in a shooting slump from BTA. I expect her to bounce back shortly.

Okay, thanks. I don't remember that but I don't get to catch all of the games. I did follow Aaryn pretty closely her last two years. Sure you are probably correct.

She's back when she does that for more than a half of one game -- but I'm excited about the prospect!
