Men's Basketball Player Poll

Get to know your 2011-12 Sooners based on how the players view each other.

NORMAN, Okla. -- Want to learn more detailed information about members of the Oklahoma men's basketball team than you can discover from reading their bios?

Here's your chance.

It has become an annual tradition that the Sooners participate in a fun player poll, whereby each player (15 this year) supplies the name of a teammate for various categories. This feature shows a side of the players you don't necessarily see on the court -- the personalities, interests and non-basketball talents (and in some cases, inabilities) of this year's Sooners.

Self votes are not allowed and only players with at least two tallies in a category are shown below. Here are this year's results:

Yeah, I was a little surprised, too. Lead by example and hardest worker are two areas one would expect the best players to win by default.

We tend to forget that this is more of a popularity poll than a real test of leadership, hard work and strength. If the players who should be at the top in those categories perform well in games, I couldn't care less about a silly ol' poll.

To some degree, I could agree with that.

His soft spoken nature seems to be a manifestation of his generally non-agressive nature. He is being coached to be more agressive with the ball in his hand. It hasn't happed yet.

I'm talking about the player votes last season, not a dunk contest. If I remember correctly, we were all surprised to see Tyler at the top of that list.
