I believe that Mac is the one who has mentioned a couple of times we need a PG. When you look at the roster, he is absolutely right. Edwards is the backup and while she is a pretty good defender and doesn't make a lot of mistakes, she is limited offensively. If Gabbi went down with an injury, we need to have someone who can pick up the slack without much, if any, dropoff. I would have loved to have gotten Ramirez who committed to OSU.

It is time to hope that Maddie recovers. She is already a better passer, even crippled, than Gabbi. With Gabbi there, it may be difficult to recruit a true point who might see her as the starter for four years. We only have one scholarship available for 2015-2016 unless someone leaves. Cox or a point guard? Is Cox that available? Will someone leave?

If Sabrina wants to commit, you definitely take her and you never think twice.

Sabrina was more of a SG to me. She can play the point but more of
A off the ball scorer in my opinion. I would be looking for another PG in the 2017-2018 class which is loaded with PG's, Slashers, and Athleticism.

You think OU would have any interest in Wilson, 2016, or Johnson, 2017? I've seen some interest in Johnson, but I have no feel for Wilson.

I think you are correct about her not being a true point guard. But, she is so good you have to take her if possible. I don't think there is any doubt she would start at OU at the SG position from day one.

From my understanding Wilson got the first 2016 OU offer
In 8th grade but did not commit. Her and Dungee play the same SG position but I would give Wilson the edge being the better player. Since we have 1 ship left for 2016, I honestly Don't see us signing cox. With Odimgbe, Vivi, Treece, and then mulkey in 2016 were set at the post Spot.
I would say hold on to the last ship for Wilson or if she goes elsewhere Move it To the 2017 class which will have to be a major one! Just My opinion.

I like that Idea, and it's true, We offered Wilson first of the 2016 class when she
Was in 8th or 9th grade but she wanted to weigh her options. Did we go with Dungee instead?

The 2017 and 2018 class will have to be Top notch! We will loose a lot of talent those 2 years and look to rebuild during those years. Anyone know Why we haven't gotten a jump start (other than Llanusa) with the 2017 class?

The more I read about Wilson The more I like her. Haven't seen her play yet but looking foward to catch a game pretty soon. Prospectsnation has compared
Her to a bigger Courtney Walker at A&M. A&M has also been recruiting her hard as well along with 2017 Johnson.

I think this is a likely prospect for 2017:

Dungee did make the U-16 team, for which you have to go through trials. I found it interesting that the U-16 team had four or five point guards out of the twelve players. When I watched them play, they really didn't look that good at point, one of whom was Asia Durr. She was eaten alive by an opponent, lack of quickness. Similar in style to Dungee.

Since we have 5 or 6 ships to give in 2017. What positions do we go after?
We have 1 SG in Llanusa.

We will have:

Posts or big forwards:
Pierre-Louis SR
Treece SR
Odimgbe JR
Mulkey SOPH

Guards:
Manning? SR
Penzo SR/JR
Williams, LaNesia SR
Ortiz SR
Dungee JR

2017
G Llanusa
Post prospect ? Madison Treece?

2017-2018 Could use a post and about three guards other than Llanusa.

Something to think about, and yes she will be coming off an injury, but we will have Penzo for four years. Those that I have talked to say she is wonderful distributor of the ball and that just might be what we need. I do agree though take the best player available that wants to come here and Don't look back.

This one lists her as 5-11, and she doesn't turn 18 until June 12. Hopefully, that youth will help in recovery. She was one of the youngest on the team, and she had been on it in 2011 when she was 13 or 14. She would be the same age as the rest of the freshmen entering this Fall.

You would think that being All-Tournament would have led to a lot more attention, especially after what I saw in a Mexico City paper that loved her as the star of the tournament.

This is what Full Court said about Wilson:

2016

Aaliyah Wilson, 5-11 guard, Oklahoma And 1 2016 (Muskogee HS)

Over the years, I’ve watched several players two minutes into their games and knew they were special -- and I’m adding Wilson to the list. I don’t know what attribute I like the best: her scoring, defending, rebounding or ball handling. But when you roll all of that in with her unselfishness that says a mouthful. Her three with no time on the clock capped her taking over one game the last five minutes of regulation and also sold me on her being among the top players in the nation.
