Said he can text them to you. I can help coordinate.

Wish I could have made it. The crowd for senior night was shameful. And people still wonder why we can’t get top end talent consistently.

Not many fan bases want to attend a 6pm start on a Tuesday, to watch a .500 team. Attendance would have been better if the team was doing better. Right or wrong, that is simply the way it is at MOST places.

You're not wrong, but there are degrees to which this is true. Wichita State is an absolute mess this season, and while their arena is no longer filled for every home game, they always have at least twice as many butts in the seats as we did last night. The same is true for a lot of other places. I can't imagine any other Big 12, for example, will have fewer fans on senior night, including the other programs that are not going to the tourney.

UT mid week at home a few weeks ago against a ranked team was over half empty ..

Wichita st. also does not have a competing football team or pro teams so not really an analogous situation

I wasn’t aware we “compete” against our football team for the last three months of the basketball season. And if the presence of a football program matters, how do you explain the Iowa States of the world, meaning fans who support every one of their programs, even when the football team is good?

And as for the Thunder, I experienced many a nights in an empty LNC long before the SuperSonics went the way of the San Diego Clippers.

Regardless of whether football season is ongoing, the basketball team is competing against the football team. If you disagree then you are simply being silly. Financially, culturally, time-wise, and even emotionally, it is a competition.

I would explain iowa state as a basketball school that is going through a recent successful stint in football that is energizing the fanbase currently for both sports. Also, i think culturally iowa enjoys college basketball more across their population. I just get tired of the constant *****ing about the lack of attendance at ou. It is happening everywhere IMO. Weekday games and games not just once a week is tough and coupled with ever-increasing inflation and a poopy economy. Id love to see it get better but an almost .500 team is simply going to get these fan results at OU.
