Really like that watching that game from the bench made odomes hungry to get out there.

Buddy's competitiveness, work ethic, and leadership will influence the younger guys like James and Odomes. His decision to return for his Sr. season will have a positive effect on the OU program that will be felt for years to come.

Lattin's tweet breaks my heart! He did NOT let OU down. Keep your head up, big man!

Our seniors will be missed when they're gone. But, I love the group of youngsters who will still be around next year and beyond. They have already bought into what it takes to be great and to win close games like the one last night.

I'm proud of the way our players battled KU to the end, in one of the toughest environments in college sports to come out with a win. I'm also pleased that these kids are already talking about learning from the experience and working hard to get better. That's the mark of a solid program with a very bright future!

Big man needs to hold his head up high today - I was on my feet seeing the way he protected the rim last night down the stretch of regulation. What an absolute monster.

Odomes is struggling with not playing. I hope he knows the next 3 years are his and James.

I was up as late as Odomes. I don't know when a loss has impacted me like this one.

Our guys deserved to win. Mason knowingly broke the rules. The official told him to get his ass back away from Buddy, but Mason, entitled Jayhawk that he is, felt sure the rules didn't apply to him, and the official did nothing.

Same here. Just stared at the ceiling thinking what might have been. Can't even begin to understand how Buddy, Jordan, Spangler and the crew feel.

He'll get his time. We all know you can't keep playing these guys like this. There will be foul trouble, minor injuries, guys not playing well (like Cousins last night), a need for fresh legs, etc.

By the time we get to the Big 12 tourney, we'll be playing three games in three days. Odomes will get his chances against KSU or TCU or OSU or Texas Tech.

can't blame mason for that.

I'm not. The official let a player overrule him, basically. That's what I'm complaining about. The official was CLEARLY aware that Mason was breaking the rule -- it obviously didn't elude his notice. But he did nothing about it.

If I were a Big 12 official and I heard a player smugly bragging in the postgame press conference that he knew he could get away with ignoring an official's instructions, I'd make sure, the next time I called one of his games, that kid was given cause to seriously rethink his attitude.

And if we won the way KU did, of course I'd be happy about it. But deep down, I'd much rather our guys play by the rules and win fair and square. I'm sure I'd find a way to rationalize it if one of our players bent the rules the way Mason did, just like KU fans are doing today, but deep down, it'd nag at me.

Lattin didn't let me or his teammates down. He played great. I hope he works extra hard on his free throws but he played great and I don't want him to get down on himself.

Had he not grabbed the rebound, KU gets it and scores to win on regulation. You have to have perspective on these things.

Lattin at least called it, so hopefully he'll focus on that part of his game pre and post practice. His upside looks promising, but he'll be liability late in tight games on possessions.

Glad the players are getting past this and not dwelling on it like some of our fans. It's one game and yeah it was a big one. But KU knows the escaped and know what OU will do to the rest of their schedule. Our players will take this and it will make them angry. They want to work even harder. If you ask me all KU did was poke a bear. BOOOMER!

Agree 1000%. I really hate that tweet. He made 100 great plays and missed a free throw. We're not close without him playing as well as he did.

I sent him a supportive tweet and hopefully plenty of other fans did, too -- enough to drown out the clowns.
