Booker fans need not worry. Frank was slinging them up from all over the gym just like always. He was hitting at a good clip.

Today was a good practice to watch. They put in a lot of work in on full court press with back court traps. The results were very good. They had Hornbeak turning the ball over and that is not easy to do.

Of course there was plenty of work on defense. Kruger said recently that maybe they had swung the pendulum too far toward caution. Well, it is swinging back now. It was 1's on 2's a lot and both sides were up close and aggressive.

I did have a chance to ask Coach Kruger how they got thru the 3 games injury wise. He said that we were probably as healthy as we have been. He did say that Cousin's ankle was just now starting to come around and he would expect an uptick in his production. Bennett said that he was still getting daily treatments. But, everything was holding together well. He showed some flashes today of the promise he was displaying before he got hurt. The injury set him back. But, he is starting to come back around.

As far as who were the standouts today, it is pretty hard for the white shirts to get much done when the 1's are defending well. I guess from that group it would have to be Bennett. He did fumble away 2/3 passes that he should have had. But his work around the rim and on defense was really good. Hornbeak was out quicking defenders and getting to the rim.

For the red shirts, Woodard was matching Hornbeak's get to the rim efforts. Cam was a solid shot maker today. Buddy didn't do anything wrong. But, the bar is so high for him that it is hard for him to top his best efforts. Spangler was good and solid on both ends of the court. He is starting to get some confidence in that spin move down low that Osby got so good at.

There was one really fun thing. It was provided by the best practice gym 3 pt. shooter on the team. Trey Slate. They run a 3 pt. shooting drill that has the shooter rotating from baseline to baseline around the 3 pt. line. It isn't a take your time and get yourself set deal. It is a rapid fire drill with rebounders continuously feeding the shooter the ball as he rotates around the 3 pt. line. Slate hit 22 in a row and it drew a round of applause from the watchers.

Tidbits: They may have Hamilton a Div.11 spot closer to home. Jarion Henry is not coming to OU. Not much optimism on Cunningham.

Gary, thank you so very much. I really appreciate your reports, very clear and in depth. Your reports are about all the OU basketball news I get out here in Arizona. Thank you again.

Good stuff in a long game drought. One question. How has Woodard looked lately with his outside shot?

Woodard has some really good shooting days in practice. But, he isn't a consistently good shooter. He will probably have those ups and downs in games for awhile.

Thanks Gary, appreciate the info. You are a good foot soldier for the OU hoops fans on this website.
