Why is OSU way too low they have 0 scoring coming back.
No one is jumping on the OU wagon yet...
i hope they come out like gang busters and surprise everyone, but i have a feeling all the hype that has been going on here will be good for nothing else but a big let down...
Honestly, why should they?
The only reason any of us are optimistic is because we are Sooner fans...every team has a shot to be good as long as no games are played...

If nothing else, it sounds like we will have good character guys that will play hard...and other than wins, that is the second most important thing this team needs for the fan base to not totally freak out...
I just love the positive energy you are bringing right now. It's really great stuff.

Good quality work here... I think we will surprise people, maybe Im wrong, maybe not... Playing hard doesnt keep anyones job. We need wins.
and OU was predicted to finish 11th?
OU was predicted 9th in Capel's first year, and now 11th in Capel's fifth year.
Here is how the picks have gone since 2000 under Sampson:
2000 - 4th
2001- 4th
2002- 2nd
2003- 4th
2004- 4th
2005- 2nd
I mean, it's just a pre-season poll but it is a reflection of OU's current reputation with the league. The media will probably have OU 11th or 12th this year too. They are basically saying that OU is going to be the doormat of the league with Iowa State, and that has never happened in my OU basketball watching days (early to mid 90's).
If we finish 11th then this is probably Capel's last year.
I don't think we will finish 11th, but if we do, then I doubt it.
I think there are other things that have to occur for this to be Capel's last year:
- Loses control of the team again
- Off the court issues
- No defense/hustle
- Getting blown out by 30 plus to teams like Baylor
In other words, I think it has more to do with record and don't see this team doing the things that I listed above after to talking to some folks who know more than I about the current program.

So when do wins and losses come into play?
Most coaches in america could put together a team that mesh's well on and off the court.....but that doesnt result in wins all the time, you still need alot of talent exp in the big 12
2011.
As for the talent comment, wouldn't you agree he has done that with guys like Cam, Osby, TJ, and Newell. And he even supplemented the talent with some great glue guys like Thompson and Carl Blair.
It won't be lack of talent holding this team back this year imo. It will be lack of experience (and maybe lack of one more big body that can rebound and body up down low).
