Nothing good will come of this. Good grief, what is wrong with people?

It is a big controversy in Texas now. Kendal Harris and Shirmane Thomas , two top guards in Dallas are expected on the team as well.

I wonder if Jesus told Deion to do this, just like he told him to not pay his debts?

Why do you say that about Deion not paying debts? I've never read or heard that.

If this is able to have any impact on the dropout rate in the DISD area, I am all for it. That school system is in shambles and needs serious help.

U serious Clark? Google is your friend. Just Google "Deion Sanders Jesus Discount". Enjoy.

First I have read of that- thanks. I've never had any interactions with Deion. I do know Kevin Mathis- who is working with him at Prime Prep. Kevin is as good as they come- I would want my son to be coached/mentored by him.

I do agree that debts should be paid and a flashy lifestyle is open season for criticism whether you have something to hide or not.

And congrats on the pick-ups on the recruiting trail today!

Totally agree. DISD is in really bad shape overall.

Deion has put a lot of time, effort, and energy to get this school up and running. Also admirable that he wants to where no child enrolled there has to pay any tuition either. He honestly does have good intentions in mind, in helping kids succeed in school.

However, no matter how much he tries to convey his message that it's the kids that come first, people are always going to associate it with Deion and that it is just a football school, or he is doing it to make money off of them.

Fairly or not, it is because of the reputation that he has cultivated after 20 plus years in the spotlight and he had issues with runners just a few years ago that cost a kid his last year of football at oSu. Not saying it is fair, but Deion will probably have to spend the next 20 years of doing the right things at this school before people think that it is more than just another Deion being Deion type of deal.

Deion didn't do anything wrong IMO. Dez messed up by lying to the NCAA.

I think Deion honestly tries to help these guys, especially guys like Dez who had tough childhoods, with their transition into the NFL. Dez didn't seem to want to listen Deion, so Deion cut ties with him.

I dunno, where there is smoke there is fire, but not enough for me to care about either way. Ultimately I hope his school turns out to be a resounding success that puts out great young people. It is an admirable goal and I'm not knocking the guy for having it, but talk of recruiting and reality shows etc. at the HS level just reek of "Prime Time". Just an opinion.
